Job Description

  • Employer: Founded in 1980, Inter Aide is a French non-governmental organization specialized in the implementation of concrete development programs, in response to precise vital needs for the most deprived populations. In Ethiopia, Inter Aide starts its intervention for almost 30 years and has implemented Agriculture, Water Supply and Health programs in the SNNPR Region.

  • For its Country office in Addis Ababa, Inter Aide France is seeking a Finance and Administration Manager to answer to the Administrative, Accounting and Finance needs of its program implemented in SNNPR.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Finance/Accounting Duties

  • Ensures respect of government and legal requirements.

  • Follows the compliance with Inter Aide France financial policies and donor’s policies.

  • Checks the accounting coming from the field every month (60% of the time).

  • Checks field and Addis office accounting databases.

  • Provides support to the HQ on financial/audit reports.

  • Manage the office cash boxes checking done by Admin Assistant.

  • Follows up the different Bank Accounts.

  • Makes bank transfer and collect cash for the office.

  • Collects fund requests from the field on monthly basis and distributes fund accordingly to the different projects.

  • Prepare quaterly and annual financial reports.

  • Deals with Logistic/procurement team to ensure the respect of processes and documentation required in accounting.

    Administrative duties

  • Types letters and ensure transmission.

  • Controls payrolls and income tax payment on monthly basis.

  • Controls withholding tax payments when requested in collaboration with Admin assistant.

  • Gives support to field head admins and project admins.

  • Additionally, to those specific duties, the Fiinance and Administration Officer
    is asked to be very flexible and ready to perform other duties requested by the Country Director or Head Quarter that would enable to facilitate the functioning of the organization.

    Job Requirements

    Education and/or Experiences:

  • BA degree and above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.

  • At least five years as Financial and Administration Manager or related post.

  • Previous experience in INGO sector is a plus.

  • Experience in team management.

  • Ability to work at distance (with HQ located in France and staffs located on the field).

    Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualities:

  • Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office Pack and accounting software’s (high interest to work on excel).

  • Very good English language writing and speaking skills, French additionally may be a plus.

  • Fluent Amharic language skills.

  • Flexible and open minded.

  • Strongly organized.

  • Real interest for accounting checking.

  • Willing to work in a development INGO dedicating its activities to the most deprived populations of SNNPR-Ethiopia.
