Job Title: Cervical Cancer Screening and Control Clinical Advisor

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Line Manager: Director, Regional Program Implementation Department

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Regional Program Implementation Department at central office, the cervical ca screening and control advisor will support the design and implementation of cervical screening and control program at national level and its implementation in selected federal and Gambella health facilities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

As Central PMTCT/Central Cervical Ca Screening and Control Advisor, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

Actively participate and support the National Cervical screening and control TWG

Support FMOH in the development/revision of national Cervical screening and control guidelines ,training curriculum ,job aides and M&E tools

Support the FMOH in the provision of national Cervical screening and control TOT

Participate and provide technical assistance to FMOH in JSS and Review Meetings

To oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Cervical screening and control program at Regional Health Bureaus and health facilities

Provide technical assistance to the emerging RHBs in developing/updating/customizing different provider support tools and client education materials and ensure the distribution and utilization

Organize and provide basic Cervical screening and control trainings in ICAP supported selected federal and Gambella facilities

Ensure the availability of Cervical screening and control minimum

services package in ICAP supported selected federal and Gambella facilities

Support the procurement and distribution of Cervical screening and control equipment and supplies to ICAP supported facilities

Support the printing and distribution of Cervical screening and control job aides and client education materials

Support facilities in conducting Cervical screening and control quality improvement initiatives and build capacity to benchmark and scale-up best Cervical screening and control QI practices

Prepare and harmonize annual, semi-annual, quarterly and monthly plan with FMOH and RHBs

Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual ICAP performance review meetings.

Compiles monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual activity reports

Ensure all targets are met; and

With the regional ICAP’s mentors ,participate in the clinical systems mentorship and supportive supervision as deemed as necessary

Perform others duties assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Required qualifications and experience:

Physician with minimum of 5years experience involved in the management of HIV/AIDS clients.

Experience in Cervical screening and control program is preferable

Experience in development of national documents related to HIV/AIDS Programs

Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills

Proficiency in written and spoken English

Computer skills (MS Office and statistical packages)
