IBTCI is seeking a Data Analyst to support its work under a USAID-funded project if awarded. The Data Analyst will support activities related to evaluations, assessments, and capacity building. The position is contingent upon award.
Assisting with the Design of population or beneficiary based field surveys;
Determining sample clustering and sample strategy;
Analyzing Survey data and calculating indicators including running SPSS scripts;
Calculating sample size;
Calculating sample weights;
Assist with project reports as necessary;
Other duties as required.
Serve in the above consultant capacity to support the IBTCI technical practices of Crisis, Conflict & Governance, Agriculture & Food Security & Economic, Education & Growth and Global Health and/or Business Development divisions.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.
At least eight years of
experience in designing, managing, leading, and coordinating representative population-based household surveys in developing countries;
Extensive knowledge of and experience in sample design for complex surveys and complex survey data analysis;
Professional programming experience with SPSS STATA;
Excellent knowledge of excel;
Extensive experience with the design and development of quantitative survey instruments;
Excellent writing and organization skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver a high-quality written product;
Experience in analyzing population-based household socio-economic survey data collected from developing countries;
Sectoral experience with Agriculture, Environment, Global Climate Change, or Natural Resource Conservation preferred;
Familiarity with baseline surveys and performance evaluations using a variety of methodologies required;
Previous USAID experience;
The candidate must be professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English.
Education: Master’s degree in statistics, econometrics, bio-statistics, survey methodology, epidemiology or other relevant field of study.
