    Your Role and Responsibilities

    Role Responsibilities / Job Specification

    Main Functions

  • This role supports the Enterprise and Supplier Development function within the IBM SA Equity Equivalence Investment Programme (EEIP).

  • Develop and implement a robust Enterprise/SMME development strategy aligned to the EEIP objectives and be accountable for the targets set for the EDP stream (points, money spend or otherwise)

  • Be accountable for the execution of the EDP stream, including the coordination of such execution with any other IBM or external resources as appropriate / mandated

  • Be accountable for ensuring that the EDP spends according to the IBM governance framework to achieve its targets

  • Manage, track and monitor all EDP activities and ensure consolidation and alignment with the broader IBM SA strategy, BEE strategy and other streams

  • Provide thought leadership, strategic direction and best practices on matters pertaining to ESD in line with legislative requirements and the ICT / broader market

  • Evaluate, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the EDP stream and those beneficiaries and or stakeholders aligned thereto

  • Develop a communication and marketing plan for EDP that is optimum and practical

  • Ensure that the EDP Beneficiaries achieve their own business growth aligned with IBM products / services / strategy such that this translates into IBM revenue / growth

  • Stay abreast of risks / changes in legislation or market landscape pertaining to ESD

  • Build and manage relationships with relevant bodies and organisation – these include DTI, MICT SETA, Industry Bodies, Verification Agencies, Black Management Forum, BUSA etc. - towards ensuring in-depth familiarisation and understanding of all B-BBEE legislation and regulation as it pertains to all ESD elements

  • Manage the pipeline and selection process of beneficiaries including but not limited to all internal IBM process and governance

  • Facilitate selection of service providers for EDP, where applicable=

  • Manage Service Level Agreement with service providers, where applicable

  • Work with the Business Partner Leader to build a strong ecosystem of Black Business Partners and be accountable for this area of pipeline, development and other related aspects which may be varied from time to time

    Required Technical and Professional Expertise

    Skills Required

  • Appropriate training and experience in transformational strategies in the discipline of Enterprise & Supplier Development

  • Functional and technical knowledge and experience with of current B-BBEE legislation and regulations

  • Experience in and with the operational aspects of incubators is preferred

  • Strong entrepreneurial skills / experience

  • Business Development skills aligned to ICT preferred

  • Deep understanding and insights into the plight of typical black South African entrepreneurs with respect to access to capital, operational effectiveness, market research and development, coaching and mentoring techniques, sales and marketing, networking and general business dev.

  • Project Management skills

  • Functional knowledge of financial accounting principles for budgeting, monitoring and reporting purposes

  • Tertiary qualification / 3 year commercial or related degree

  • At least 4 years’ experience working within the B-BBEE environment

  • Experience within Procurement
