Health Service Commission Registrar – Pharmacy Council Jobs in Uganda


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

  • Master’s Degree in Management, Business Administration or Project Planning and Management will be an added advantage.

    Experience:

  • Should have practical working experience in the delivery of Pharmaceutical Services gained from a period of at least twelve (12) years, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Assistant Commissioner or its equivalent from a
    recognized organization.

    Other requirements:

  • Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Analytical, leadership and decision-making skills;

  • High integrity and a community service ethic.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Secretary to the Council / Board and Council / Board Committees

  • Implement Council / Board decisions;

  • Register eligible Pharmacist into the Register of Pharmacists;

  • Advise the Ministry of Health and Stakeholders on the practice of Pharmacy
    professionals;

  • Oversee and participate in the development of Pharmacy practice laws and Regulations and Standards;

  • Oversee the development of the Council / Board Strategic Plans and Business Plans;

  • Resource mobilization (Financial, Human capital and other logistics);

  • Coordinate and supervise all activities of the
    Council, Council Committees and the
    Council Secretariat;

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Council and submit Performance reports as required;

  • Provide overall leadership of the Pharmacy Council;

  • Develop strategic collaborations with partners, Civil Society, Private Sector and
    Government in a Sector-wide approach;

  • Manage assets and property of the Council;

  • Carry out day-to-day management of the Council;

  • Monitor and evaluate performance and adherence to set standards;

  • Oversee the management of the Council funds and accountability;

  • Inspect and have full access, on behalf of the Council to all Pharmacy Practice
    Units – both private and public;

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Minister as required.
