Person Specification for KS2 Teacher
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, dedicated and positive KS2 teacher to join a friendly, passionate and hardworking team.
A fantastic attitude is a prerequisite.

The school has a strong academic record yet places equal emphasis upon understanding pastoral care, providing a safe atmosphere for both boarders and day students.
Sport, outdoor education, music and drama are amongst activities the children take part in and all teachers are expected to play a role in one or more of these areas.
Primary school teachers develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
They facilitate learning and pupils’ progress by establishing a positive relationship with pupils, and by their organization of learning resources and a stimulating classroom learning environment.
They assess and record progress, They link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways in which to encourage it further, and challenge and inspire pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.
The Class Teacher will be responsible to the Head of the Junior School and responsible for the Key
Stage 2 Coordinator in respect of curriculum and pastoral matters.
Duties and Responsibilities Specific to the Post
Implement agreed school policies and guidelines
Support initiatives agreed by the Senior Management Team and staff
Contribute to the school’s development plan and its implementation
Plan and prepare lessons to meet the needs of all pupils based on the National Curriculum of
England & Wales
To maintain discipline through the implementation of the School’s Behaviour Management policy and by engaging pupils in a stimulating, positive classroom environment
To meet the requirements for the assessment & recording of pupils' progress
Report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
Communicate and co-operate with outside agencies and other professionals, such as educational
psychologists, as required.
Organize and direct the work of support staff within the classroom
Participate in the Performance Review and Development system, for the appraisal of their
Contribute to whole school activities, including the organization of and participation in school
events, outings or activities, which may take place during evenings or weekends.
If qualified, the holder of this post may have additional responsibilities like Key Stage Coordinator or KS2 Curriculum coordinator.

Curriculum Coordinator Responsibilities (Subject to be agreed)
Develop own expertise in the agreed subject area
To keep up-to-date and abreast of developments in the agreed subject area through research, continuous professional development etc
To produce written policies and guidance and communicate with staff
To ensure ‘best value’ in procurement and oversee the effective use of curriculum resources in
the subject area
Ensure legal compliance with statutory curriculum guidance
Coach colleagues to ensure good practice
Monitor and assist in the evaluation of the subject area
Network and liaise with colleagues in other schools
Applicants Must Have
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (BSc./B.Ed.) preferably primary Education or related
field and a teaching qualification. Relevant Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
Experience in teaching the National Curriculum of England and Wales.
High level of creativity and experience in heading a department/faculty in a BNC school
Have or apply for an ICPC or Good Conduct Certificate
Willingness to contribute fully to the boarding and extracurricular life of a busy, full boarding
