Key Responsibilities – M‑Pesa Transactions & Cash Handling

  • Perform M‑Pesa transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bill payments, and airtime purchases.

  • Ensure accurate recording of all transactions and balances.

  • Maintain sufficient float and cash levels at all times.

  • Balance cash and M‑Pesa float daily and report discrepancies immediately.

    Customer Service

  • Serve customers professionally, courteously, and efficiently.

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding M‑Pesa services and transactions.

  • Resolve basic customer complaints or escalate issues where necessary.

  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships.

    Compliance & Security

  • Adhere strictly to Safaricom M‑Pesa operating procedures and compliance guidelines.

  • Ensure proper KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures are followed.

  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and transaction data.

  • Observe security procedures to prevent fraud, loss, or theft.

    Reporting & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate transaction records and daily reconciliation reports.

  • Prepare end‑of‑day summaries for review by the supervisor.

  • Ensure proper filing of transaction‑related documentation.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

  • KCSE minimum grade C minus.

  • Prior experience as an M‑Pesa Attendant or in a similar cash‑handling role is an added advantage.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Strong numerical and record‑keeping skills.

  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, or shifts as required.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
