Job Introduction:

To support all G4S South Africa businesses in Learning and Development,
and develop and implement learning and development solutions in order to meet business desired.

Role Responsibility:

Conduct Needs Analysis:

  • Analyse and manage the end to end learning and development cycle for authorised interventions.
  • Source relevant solutions or recommendations (costs,quality, partnerships, learning solutions etc). Utilisingthe 70, 20, 10 approach for any learning needs identified with individuals.
  • Assist the business with skills gaps analysis,Individuals, departments, teams) and development of customised training programmes.
  • Source cost effective and quality learning solutions(internal and external).
  • Create technical competency profiles for managerial and professional function jobs.
  • Ensure that learning and development activities are benchmarked against best practices in industry and across the G4S group.
  • Ensure that compliance to SETA’s, Skills Development
  • Legislation, PSIRA regulations, BBBEE criteria as well as Industry associations and regulations.
  • Analyse and monitor requirements from individual PDP’s – Personal Development Plans.
  • Provide consultation and advice to business in respect of learning and development needs, in line with the
  • Performance Management process, competency framework, company’s strategy as well as legislative or regulatory changes in Industry.
  • Prepare forecast of desired training programmes, OFO (occupation framework) attendees as well as racial splits for the WSP (Workplace Skills Plan) report.

    Training Content Design, Pilot and Facilitation:

  • Drafting, management and sourcing of training content and courses via internal or external providers.
  • Sourcing and procuring (in line with the procurement process) appropriate, reliable and credible training providers.
  • Conducting quality checks on training content (Internal and external).
  • Ensuring regular updating and improvement of training content especially training content with constant changes e.g, Internal, Regulatory, legislative training
  • Ensuring external training content is aligned to unit standard\s and G4S QMS (quality management systems) as well as accredited with the relevant SETA or training authority.
  • Ensure that all training content is shared on the G4S Google drive for availability to the region.

    Learning Delivery :

  • Scheduling and planning of learning interventions (internal and external)
  • Facilitation of internal programmes as required.
  • Facilitating, co-ordinating and monitoring of learning requirements from individual’s Personal Development Plan.
  • Facilitation of learning programmes to Frontline employees, customers and suppliers. (Adhoc)
  • Implement mentorship programme (where necessary.
  • Managing or overseeing the assessment and moderation processes on conducted learning, especially accredited, Unit standard programmes.

    Evaluation, Business Reporting and Administration :

  • Monitor, implementation and use of feedback to update and improve training content and frameworks.
  • Certification after successful
    completion of training (where applicable)
  • Quality check data on the learner management system(VIP Skills) to ensure accurate data is being reported in the WSP/ ATR (Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report) to the SETA.
  • Creating monthly summary reports to compare the performance against the WSP projections.
  • Conducting data quality checks on the BBBEE Skills reports and submitting these reports to the relevant stakeholders for viewing and comment before final submission for BBBEE verification.
  • Consolidate and reconcile external and internal provider invoices with regards to completed training and in accordance with the BBBEE and WSP/ATR reporting.
  • Ensure the monthly analysis of training budgets (Budgeted Costs vs Actual Costs).
  • Perform administrative functions on Learning and Development Systems (eg. My360, MyLearning Portals).

    Improve Skills Development points for BBBEE compliance :

  • Ensure that exco, business, and key stakeholders understand the BBBEE scorecard requirements, criteria and consequences if not compliant.
  • Planning training programmes and training initiatives (WSP) that compliment and contribute to the BBBEE scorecard.
  • Encouraging learnerships and accredited training projects.
  • Maximising BBBEE points for skills by reporting all types of learning programmes (Workshops, seminars etc)
  • Consolidating, preparing and submission of BBBEE verification data.

    Ensure Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensuring the on-going management and excellent relationships as well as involvement and participation with the various statutory bodies, which includes, SETA’s, PSIRA, QCTO, SAQA etc. Maintaining these external relationships to maximise government and sector funding on learning projects such as Learnerships, bursaries etc.
  • Ensure that the WSP/ATR (Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report) is submitted timeously and as per SETA criteria on or before the due date every April.
  • Providing management with strategic advice, information, updates on all legislative or regulatory changes and matters affecting the Industry.

    Managing the Learning and Development Financial Assistance Process:

  • Amend version control of process, documentation and policy, where necessary .
  • Create and maintain the Financial Agreement Tracker.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting to HRD, Exco and Line.
  • Tracking of spend against budget.

    Centre of Excellence - Development:

    Contribute to the body of knowledge for Learning and Development to the Africa Region.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    Minimum qualification & experience :

  • Relevant Human Resources/ Training Degree
  • OETDP Qualification
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience

    Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of curriculum and learning programme design
  • Knowledge of the PSIRA training regulations and requirements
  • Knowledge of Skills Development, EE , LRA and SAQA legislation and SETA acts
  • Knowledge of training facilitation, evaluation and moderation
  • Knowledge of Skills Development act, including WSP/ATR
  • Knowledge of HR processes and procedures including talent management, succession planning and management development.
