G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company, has a vacancy for a Bid Manager based at our offices in Centurion.
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Bid Manager is responsible for the quality of all tender/proposal submissions.
Their primary objective is to increase sales conversion rates via enhanced quality of response and positive management of the bid process.
The successful incumbent is a self starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which sales and marketing plays within a successful business unit.
The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.Standardize sales documentation and keep updated through regular support to regions
Provide all regions with sales-related documentation in compliance with corporate guidelines
Updated Profiles distributed
Respond to requests for information
Assist with presentations
Constantly updating all sales and marketing collateral used for bids
Support the regional sales teams with updated and relevant information
Prepare & submit national tenders & cost proposals
Compile national tenders submitted on time & accurately Priced @ acceptable margins
Follow up on outstanding tenders
Provide support with presentations
Ensure best practise within all answers to all tender questions, and focus on specific areas that require more complex solutions
Provide alternative solutions as well as the prescribed requirements in each bid
Compile customer references as well as supporting case studies
Obtain customer feedback via questionnaire response for losses and successes
Costing proposals (with support from finance dept)
Assist with customer retention and new business targets
Achieve annual new business targets as set.
Understand competitor environment
Assist in preventing existing customers entering formal tender process and increasing retention rates.
Provide effective support and assistance related to projects
Complete tasks within the allocated time frame
Produce accurate work
Provide reliable support-system
Assist with designing presentations
Manage & execute special projects timeously & comprehensively
Communicate with all relevant parties
Health and Safety
Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
Attend safety education and refresher programmes
Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous
5 years working experience within corporate sales environment, coupled with relevant administrative experience in a similar environment
Previous experience/exposure in compiling Bids/Tenders
Knowledge of the cash industry and associated products offered recommended
Computer Literacy – MS Office Packages
Excellent written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work towards tight deadlines and under pressure
