FSD Kenya Trustee services Jobs
The Programme Investment Committee (PIC) of the Financial Sector Deepening Trust (Kenya), (the Trust) wishes to appoint a service provider to act as trustee for the Financial Sector Deepening Trust (Kenya) for a five year period commencing 1 April 2022.
Currently funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the charitable purpose of the trust is to promote pro-poor financial services in Kenya. Trust programmes include work on long term policy, regulation and vision; financial market infrastructure; and innovative financial solutions.
The Trustee is fully accountable under the Kenyan Trustee Act (Cap 167) for the discharge of the charitable trust. The powers and responsibilities of the Trustee are set out in the Trust Deed, the PIC constitution and the Trust Policies and Procedures. Although the Trustee is fully responsible for the strategic direction, financial management and fiduciary oversight, and operations of the Trust, it is mandated to seek technical guidance through a “no objection” of the PIC comprising donor and independent members, and to implement the programme using the services of technical and financial managers.
As a result the role of the trustees is primarily one of oversight, ensuring that the systems and processes necessary to ensure programmatic, operational and financial integrity are followed. The Trustee will appoint two of its employees to act as the registered trustees of the Trust; and will be expected to maintain good donor relationships.
Skills and competencies
Applicants must demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of financial
and risk management, fiduciary and operational oversight.
Demonstrated experience in managing donor or international development organisation programmes with a committed value of US$30 million or greater, including responsibility for grant management.
At least one of the proposed trustees must be a qualified accountant, or a professional attorney or lawyer.
At least five years’ experience of the proposed Trustees in managing donor and international development programmes
Capacity to put in place professional indemnity insurance of US$5 million.
How to apply

The total responses must be no more than 4 A4 pages.
Expressions of interest should be sent by e-mail to
firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 12 noon (EAT) 3rd December 2021.
Note: If you had previously applied for these services, kindly do not reapply, the expression of interest you shared is still valid and shall be evaluated.
