Job Description:

  • Under limited oversight, supervises MWR staff and coordinates MWR services and support activities within assigned area of responsibility.

  • Supports MWR Manager as directed.

  • Provide supervisory leadership and coordinates recreation programs and facility services relative to MWR recreation and education programming.

  • Support preparation of work plans, programming templates, curriculum for use by facility and program staff; review program plans and reports; provide project management assistance.

  • Liaison to external client to include them in outdoor and indoor recreation/education initiatives as directed.

  • Train department staff on proper implementation of learning objectives throughout recreation services.

  • Register participants into recreation programs.

  • Answer or refer questions in person, via email, or by telephone from the staff and client.

  • Assist in customer service initiatives throughout the department.

  • Issues recreational equipment and supplies.

  • Submits equipment requisitions. Administers CPR and First Aid as needed.

  • Supervises a team of subcontractor, and/or labor broker personnel, in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.

  • On-site interviewing for this position will take place in the Balkan region. Candidates must be available to interview at the aforementioned location, and must posses the ability to read, write and speak fluent English to be considered.

  • Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including
    lifting and carrying 25 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).

  • Living conditions on the project are most likely austere. The most austere sleeping may be in environmentally conditioned tents on “Army type” cots. Restrooms and showers may be 250 feet or further from sleeping quarters. Laundry service for 15 pounds twice per week is commonly provided. Meals are provided at regular intervals in cafeteria or “dining facility” style environment. Living area will most likely have constant hum of generators or similar equipment nearby.
