Purpose

To analyse customer and / or payment information to identify potential suspicious transactions and/or individuals in order to mitigate / reduce the incidence of financial crimes against the bank.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum: Relevant undergrad business degree / qualification.
  • Preferred: Relevant Honours degree/qualification.
  • ITC clearance.
  • FAIS not required.
  • Minimum: 3 years working experience with 2 years working experience in financial risk, compliance or legal environment and 1 year’s managerial/leadership experience.
  • Preferred: 2 years’ experience in Financial Crime.

    Responsibilities
  • Operate within budget and costing guidelines in order to prevent financial losses to the Bank and business unit.
  • Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor and coach behaviours that ensure a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.
  • Build objective working relationships with various, experts and counterparts within the banking industry and the broader financial crime risk community.
  • Conduct required interventions in line with applicable laws, policies and procedures stipulated in FNB.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable goals and execute relevant
    projects /initiatives aligned to business purpose with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress.
  • Utilise tracker status updates to monitor team performance regarding work assignments and intervene when deadlines can’t be met and manage client expectations accordingly.
  • Implement quality standards and practices.
  • Continuously improve quality assurance practices in order to meet changing business requirements.
  • Reviews the quality of deliverables produced and provides feedback accordingly.
  • Allocate work assignments based on capacity and capability to meet business requests. Develop plans in advance to meet requests based on business cycles.
  • Share and impart knowledge of practices in intelligence gathering and interpretation to up skill team members through relevant forms of delivery.
  • Provide input into the design of risk models that are used by the team members.
  • Coordinate with business to establish required forums to implement recommendations and outcomes from client analysis.
  • Compile and communicate accurate and timely reports to track progress made on operations and keep key stakeholders informed of request status including updating relevant information systems accessed by business.
  • Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate.
  • Plan and manage performance, skills development, succession and talent management and culture of team in order to improve performance and competence.
  • Actively coach Analysts / Senior Analysts through providing advice about subject matter, solutions, principles and processes with the aim to improve business performance.
  • Participate and contribute to a development culture where information regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas are actively shared.
