ExxonMobil Mechanical Specialist Jobs in Nigeria;The Mechanical Technician will provide subject matter expertise in safety, health, and environmental requirements (SHE), regulatory compliance, and technical support for maintenance, construction, and projects. The role involves safe and effective planning and execution, troubleshooting, mentoring, and supporting routine maintenance, turnarounds, and new projects.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Execution

  • Implement maintenance design philosophies for mechanical equipment.

  • Provide technical support and coordination across business lines.

  • Support cost management and productivity improvement plans.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide operations support.

  • Contribute technical input to training development and delivery.

    Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship

  • Share best practices and provide feedback.

  • Develop personal expertise and mentor colleagues across the organization.

    Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to SHE requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Influence without authority and collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

    Qualifications

  • Higher National Diploma in Instrumentation & Controls, Mechanical, or equivalent apprenticeship program.

  • BSc in Engineering or related sciences acceptable with 5+ years’ verifiable mechanical technician experience.

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen with NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.

    Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years’ mechanical technician work experience.

  • Previous offshore or FPSO experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of oil & gas operations, hazards, and equipment.

  • Hands‑on skills in minor repairs, routine maintenance,
    and adjustments.

  • Ability to interpret transmitters, sensors, gauges, control valves, and P&IDs.

  • Familiarity with ESD, Fire & Gas systems, and CMMS (SAP).

  • Technical knowledge of generators, pumps, compressors, HVAC, motors, valves, and pipework.

  • Strong attention to detail, hazard identification, and mitigation.
