eLearning Programme Manager, AMREF - Kenya

Stationed in Nairobi and reporting to the Director of Capacity Building, the candidate will provide efficient and effective management of AMREF e-learning programme that aims at scaling up Human Resource for Health in Africa which includes the upgrading of 22,000 enrolled Community Health Nurses to Registered Level in 5 years.

The project is a partnership between AMREF, the Nursing Council of Kenya and Accenture (UK).

Specific areas of responsibility will include:

  • Supervising and coordinating all aspects of the programme and the extension of AMREF’s work with eLearning for different groups of health workers and different countries in Africa;

  • Contributing strategically to the development of the eLearning Programme;

  • Managing the development, implementation and delivery of AMREF’s eLearning programme for nurses;

  • Providing timely and efficient management of the eLearning Programme;

  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships and relationships across multiple stakeholder groups;

  • Monitoring, evaluating and documenting programme progress; and

  • Advocating nationally, regionally and internationally for the AMREF eLearning model.


  • The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Business Management or other relevant field.

  • S/he will have at least 5 years experience, 2 of which are at management level, in project management including project formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development programme and financial management of eLearning Programmes in Africa.
  • S/he should have a proven track record of identifying, developing and managing complex multi-stakeholder partnerships and relationships; strong written and spoken English, excellent IT skills and proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. In addition, we are looking for someone who is a results-oriented team player with strong negotiating and advocacy skills.

  • Qualification in Nursing or a health field would be an added advantage but not a must.
