Overall Purpose of The Job:

  • The Regional Investigations Manager is responsible for formulating, implementing early fraud detection strategies, and managing team members in the course of the investigations process.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of investigators as will be assigned from time-to-time and ensure that set targets are met.

  • Plan and execute investigations and early fraud detection strategies for the assigned region(s)

  • Create and maintain good and professional relationships between the Company, police and other relevant bodies.

  • Coordinate the reporting of all incidents /accidents within the assigned region(s) involving the company’s insured(s), as soon as they occur and visiting the incident/accident scene.

  • Oversee the collection of relevant evidence from the police station and hospitals while ensuring the accuracy of the same.

  • Gather intelligence information regarding incidents/accidents and claims trends in the area of coverage.

  • Lead Field operations by facilitating and supporting investigators to access services from relevant institutions.

  • Mentor and coach investigators on matters relating to claims investigations.

  • Conduct follow-up on investigations on suspicious and fraudulent claims.

  • Ensure liability apportioned by police is accurate.

  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring the movement of investigators throughout the region to ensure geographic effectiveness.

  • Provide periodical investigation reports on a regular and timely basis.

  • Carry out investigations and reconstruction of major accidents.

  • Any other responsibilities will be communicated to the Officer from time to time.

    Person Specifications

    Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • University Degree/Diploma in Criminology & Security Studies, Fraud Detection or equivalent from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education Professional body
    membership will be an added advantage

    Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • MUST have at least five (5) years working experience in the security/investigative sector or Kenya Police Force

  • Experience in the insurance industry and knowledge of Cap 405 will be advantageous

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of contemporary risk management principles and practices and reporting

  • Problem-solving and Solution-oriented

  • Supervisory and leadership skills in managing teams/department performance.

  • High integrity and ethical level

  • Able to maintain utmost confidentiality of information in their possession

  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to pay great attention to detail and get things done to completion.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Fraud detection skills

  • Self-motivated, confident and outgoing personality.
