  • The primary responsibility of the Paralegal is to enhance the effectiveness of the Legal Services team through the provision of general legal administrative support to business and Corporate Governance colleagues, specifically in the regulatory affairs and company secretariat functions.

  • They coordinate regulatory compliance and company secretariat projects, provide general assistance related to regulatory compliance matters, including reviewing data privacy assessments, data privacy agreements and completing the necessary documents related to license and trademark applications and renewals, litigation, prepare other relevant documents for external external attorneys, and assist with other related administrative duties.

  • Provides related administrative assistance to the corporate governance function, including the company secretariat function. Acts as liaison between the corporate governance function, the organisation (in respect of related services) and external parties. Compiles data from relevant sources, including regulations and practice manuals. Assembles, proofs and edits related drafts.

  • Prepares and files legal documents with appropriate entities, as required. Conducts research on projects as directed by the Head-Relatory Affairs or Senior Director – Legal Services. May review and ensure the company's compliance with regulations. Assists internally in analyzing documents. Counsels on progress of applications and projects. May assist with the review and preparation of patent material and trademark applications.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    Perform Contract Administration

  • Paralegals prepare contract and other legal documentation for review by the Head- Regulatory Affairs/Senior Director – Legal Services ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws. They liaise with vendors /contractors, clients and the Corporate Governance team where and when necessary to assist in concluding contracts.

  • These individuals may also provide support for negotiations and closure of contracts based on acceptable risk and in accordance with Group policies and applicable laws. They keep all stakeholders abreast of all relevant contractual changes, updates or risks.

    Conduct Research and Analysis

  • They research and analyse the implications of case law, legislation and regulatory matters that affect the company and provide feedback to the relevant Corporate Governance team member. The Paralegal provides research on issues involving company compliance with governmental and regulatory standards ensuring appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles and other materials that are relevant to the assigned matter is taken into account.

  • They co-ordinate and organise research for access by the Legal Services team and other stakeholders. Paralegals also analyse and summarise research information and prepare written reports and briefs.

    Coordinate Projects

  • The Paralegal provides input to and assists with carrying out of legal and contractual projects within forecasted deadlines. They follow up where necessary ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.

    Manage receipt, delivery and accessibility of
    legal documents

  • The Paralegal attends to all correspondence and/or emails received on a daily basis. They co-ordinate formal delivery of legal documents to affected persons. They organise and track files of all legal and other relevant documents and make them available and easily accessible to the Legal Services team. They also ensure the co-ordination and management of document production and storage.

    Ensure Accuracy of information

  • The Paralegal ensures that all relevant information regarding legal matters is accurate and kept up to date. They perform due diligence investigations to ensure that all relevant documentation is indexed, allocated and reviewed. They manage the document flow, analyse documents and determine how they should be dealt with and who they should be referred to.

  • They develop easy to use systems to manage legal documentation and maintain databases with accurate information.

    Perform general administration

  • Paralegals perform general administrative tasks including creating and filing documents, setting up appointments and interacting with clients and attorneys.


  • Paralegals demonstrate good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. They are team players who are analytically minded and display planning, organising and problem solving ability. They have well developed attention to detail and display high levels of integrity and professionalism. They are proactive in their approach and have a good understanding of the business.


    In this position you will be required to:

  • Prepare legal documentation for review by the relevant Corporate Governance team member ensuring compliance with Dimension Data’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.

  • Research and analyse the implications of case law, legislation and regulatory matters that affect the company and provide feedback to the Corporate Governance team.

  • Co-ordinate legal and contractual projects ensuring that tasks are completed on time and within budget.

  • Manage the receipt, delivery and accessibility of legal documents.

  • Develop systems to manage legal documentation, ensures accuracy of information and allows due diligence.

  • Perform general administrative tasks to ensure Corporate Governance function effectively.

  • Requires paralegal certification, law office experience and knowledge of office automation equipment/software related to activities.
