    Main Purpose of Job

  • Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join our Information Technology team as a Regional IT Manager who will lead the Information Technology function, including staff across the East African offices to support the firm’s technology strategy and ensure the proper functioning of the Firm’s IT services across the East Africa region, for the African firm.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere and continuously contribute to the IT strategy that supports the firm’s business vision and strategic direction;

  • Ensure the IT function is optimally resourced, has motivated and well-trained staff while managing their performance and career development;

  • Attendance and Participation in the required Africa and global meetings and forums;

  • Compliance and deadlines are of key importance for this role;

  • Comply with Monthly, Weekly and adhoc reporting (operational, financial and compliance) to South Africa and Global;

  • Document policies and procedures for the firm’s IT operations, as well as guidelines for the usage of IT resources within the organization;

  • Ensure availability of up-to-date information systems, hardware and software which adequately meet the needs of the firm in the most cost-effective way;

  • Review and advice on the use of new technologies
    that will enhance the East African practice;

  • Put measures in place to ensure availability of the technology environment at a minimum of 95% capacity across the region;

  • Ensure appropriate risk management and advice on solutions for avoidance / improvement;

  • Develop and implement a user training plan on end-user applications;

  • Project Manage the selection and implementation of new IT systems and co-ordinate and manage maintenance and upkeep of existing IT systems;

  • Standardize computer systems and platforms used across the four regional offices;

  • Drive the selection and implementation of IT infrastructure and manage vendors/supplier relationships;

  • Ensure that the initiatives undertaken by the firm are in line with international Deloitte policies and procedures;

  • Drive the preparation and implementation of divisional IT budgets; and

  • Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department.



  • Bachelors’ Degree in computer science, IT or a related field;

  • Managerial / leadership qualifications

  • Master’s degree is an added advantage

  • 8 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years’ IT and Managerial experience in a large enterprise IT environment or a large organization. Experience in a professional services firm is an added advantage.
