    About the Department

  • The procurement department supports the various functions to procure and manage supplies and ensures procurement processes are managed in a diligent manner. The function also supports donor funded projects being implemented by Deloitte.

  • Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Internal Client Services Department as a Procurement Manager. This position will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.

    Main purpose of the job

  • The successful candidate will take responsibility for the Firm’s procurement management process across East Africa including monitoring budgets and implementation of procurement plans. He/she will provide guidance in execution of specific tasks related to procurement management at the Firm in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

    What you will do

  • Ensure that procurement of goods and services is done in compliance with policy;

  • Maximise value for the Firm by ensuring proper pricing and quality of goods and services;

  • Manage the day-to-day procurement activities including solicitation of quotations, analysis of quotations and filing of procurement paperwork in accordance with Deloitte East Africa and Donor requirements;

  • Ensure integration and compliance to USAID rules and regulations for donor Funded Projects;

  • Provide technical guidance in all procurement activities and ensure compliance to procurement procedures through continuous sensitization and reporting any cases of non-compliance;

  • Ensure all procurements are in line with the Firm’s policies relating to
    conflict checks with the Risk, Independence and Legal Department through the Business Relationship `Management System (BRMS);

  • Develop, manage and maintain an arm’s length relationship with vendors at all levels and ensure that Deloitte East Africa suppliers fulfil their obligations in a timely manner;

  • Prepare and review supplier evaluations/bids analysis, requests for awards, purchase orders, contracts for services and other procurement documents, ensuring strict adherence to applicable procedures; and

  • Supervise staff and allocate duties to staff under the procurement unit in Deloitte East Africa.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supplies Management or related field from an accredited university.

  • Be a registered member of KISM with a valid practicing certificate. CIPS membership will be an added advantage.

  • At least seven years relevant procurement experience two of which should be at a supervisory level preferably in the service industry.

  • Experience managing procurement for USAID funded projects will be an added advantage.
