    Job Description

    Your opportunity

  • This is your opportunity to join Deloitte's growing Financial Advisory practice as an Analytics Specialist in the Transaction Services (TS) team.
  • Working on high profile assignments with some of the best in the field, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, with a mix of both corporate and private equity transactions, within a highly commercial, client focused environment.

    Your role
  • Your role will be to provide support to the deal team through the analysis and manipulation of large data sets to provide compelling, value add outputs to our clients.
  • You will be responsible for driving the development of static & interactive data visualizations to communicate business insights to clients.
  • Typically, this involves the investigation of the target from a variety of perspectives to ensure significant value items, risks and other matters have been identified and considered by our client and assisting them in making an informed decision regarding the transaction.
  • The Transaction Services group is seeking an experienced Manager for this purpose.
  • This role is critical with respect to providing analytically focused Financial due diligence and M&A transaction support to our clients.
  • This role will be pivotal in shaping the client service capabilities of Deloitte’s TS teams.
  • The ideal candidate for this position will be able to bridge the gap between financial analysis and M&A, with data science and analytics expertise.
  • Quickly develop an understanding of the target business and its drivers
  • Manipulate large data sets to provide compelling, value adding outputs
  • Develop static & interactive data visualizations to communicate business insights to clients
  • Build visualizations and supporting analysis of historical trading, quality of earnings, working capital, cash flow, etc.
  • Collaborate extensively with Deloitte engagement teams and clients
  • Clearly and effectively communicate requirements, timelines and insights to both internal Deloitte team members, as well as clients
  • Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognized for their contribution

    Experience
  • Previous relevant work experience, involving the technical execution of large financial data analytics projects (minimum of three years)
  • Finance accounting background preferred but not a requirement, i.e. BCom specialising in Information Systems/ Computer Science or a BBusSc specialising in Analytics qualified or equivalent
    Financial data analysis and consolidation
  • A knowledge of SQL Server, Tableau (or other visual tools such as Qlikview, PowerBi), Alteryx (or other ETL tools)
  • Power Query, R and Python knowledge desirable but not essential
  • Ability to ETL client data to facilitate analysis / visualization
  • Ability to manage, analyse and present findings from large volumes of data
  • Experience in a financial or M&A environment is preferred but not essential
  • Experience in a Consulting/professional services/strategy environment desirable, or a similar business partnering role at a large corporate
  • Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
