Main Purpose of Job

To support the Indirect Tax manager/team in providing professional and robust tax and legal advice on all Global Tax Advisory matters. Develop high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters, and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service

Qualifications & Experience required


B Com or LLB
3 years working experience/ Accounting Experience


Postgraduate qualification in Taxation
3 -5 years in a client facing role with detailed knowledge of the Customs Act/regulations and case law

Specialized Technical Capabilities

  • Compliance Planning - Spots consulting opportunities arising from compliance;
  • Consultancy and Compliance - Identifies opportunities to integrate customs and industry service offerings
  • Tax Authority Relationship Management - Prepares and collates supporting documentation to be submitted to
    the customs authorities on client’s behalf
  • Tax Transaction Rules - Helps determine customs issues and proposes solutions
  • Customs and Trade Rules - Assesses the impact of changes in laws by applying knowledge of trade flows and processes including imports, exports and supply chain security programs

    Core Professional Technical Capabilities

  • Tax Laws and Rules - Applies knowledge and skills of relevant practices and processes (or relevant customs rules and regulations) in area of specialization to client problems; Presents findings, recommends and implements advice independently relevant to customs and consults others as needed; Reviews written technical advice, reports, memoranda and/or other deliverables relevant to customs laws and rules for adequacy of research conducted and appropriateness and accuracy of conclusions; Assesses the business impact of recent developments and changes relating to area of customs specialization for clients
  • Delivery excellence - Proactively manages client issues and expectations
  • Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving - Interprets and synthesizes data, exercises professional skepticism to challenge data, and identifies meaningful insights to develop recommendations that most effectively support a client’s business objectives
  • Technology Tools and Solutions - Articulates how technology enables business processes and is able to communicate its value clearly to clients
