    Job Description

  • The main purpose of the job is to support the business area leadership in the implementation of strategic plan through the effective management of teams

  • Build high performing teams to deliver in client engagements. Translate broader strategic into a compelling team vision and goals

  • Applies deep knowledge of disruptive trends and competitor activity to drive continuous improvement

    Strategic Impact:

  • Support the implementation of strategy of the Service Line / Business Area in relation to specific area of expertise

  • Implement the strategy within area of responsibility by conforming to plans set by leadership in all engagements / projects including:

  • Revenue targets

  • Talent management

  • Communication to teams

  • Tracking of plans in engagements / projects

  • Actively identify sales opportunities in broader market

  • Contribute to preparation of proposals /tenders and presentations

  • Participate in sales presentations and client negotiation teams for new and retained business

  • Grow market network with key players and build long-term relationships

  • Build relationships across Deloitte service lines for cross-selling opportunities and combined engagement pursuits

  • Identify innovative solutions on projects / engagements to enhance / renew service offerings to client

  • Drive own client portfolio and profitable book of business (depending on SL/BU)

    Governance transformation:

  • Ability to leverage a keen understanding of the client’s strategy to influence and advise client’s senior leadership on key governance decisions

  • Anticipates internal and external implications of the client’s strategy

  • Applies a strong understanding of client’s strategy and advises client’s senior leadership accordingly

  • Helps clients develop sustainable governance structure and mechanisms

  • Uses insight-based approaches to help clients clarify priorities and develop governance models and frameworks that adapts to
    change in the business environment

    Process Transformation, Business Process Assessment and Design:

  • Ability to create and implement innovative and disruptive business process assessment and design solutions to better address a client’s business needs

  • Leads development of methods and tools that increase effectiveness of business process assessment and design solutions and uncovers new opportunities, including business and process architecture, governance operating models, risk solutions and across the policy & governance, process, risk and control value chain

  • Coaches practitioners to focus on value-generating ideas and think beyond conventional approaches to conduct business process assessment and design

    Specialised Technical Capabilities:

    Leads the Design, Development, and Implementation of Governance Transformation Projects:

  • Ability to set the stage for forward-looking, comprehensive, and sustainable governance strategies by providing subject matter expertise, strategic advisory, and facilitating key decision making

  • Advises top leaders and board of directors (e.g., CEO, CRO, Board, Risk Committees, and Business and Functional Heads) on leading governance practices, and is able to articulate to executives why governance is a strategic issue

  • Helps client leadership gain a clear understanding of the value drivers that influence risk appetite

  • Guides those charged with governance on the manner in which governance can align to best practice, whilst being fit for purpose and appropriate to the organisation.

  • Expertise in strategy, governance, risk and or compliance field with excellent industry and business knowledge

  • Strong business acumen

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Sales and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage and execute projects

  • Demonstrated execution of complex projects to profitable outcomes

  • Skilled in drafting and presenting client proposals

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Good financial knowledge

    Minimum qualifications:

  • Appropriate Honours degree in Law, Ethics, Corporate Governance.

    Desired qualifications:

  • LLB Law, Appropriate governance accreditation, MBA, equivalent Honour degree and professional certification

    Experience:

  • 5-7 years in a client facing role responsible for business development, strategy, governance and ethics consulting; 3 to 5 of these in a management role.

  • GRC solution experience an advantage.

  • Digital and Analytics an advantage.
