Purpose of the Role

  • DAI intends to award a Blanket Purchase Agreement for a period of 1 year to provide general ongoing graphic design support on an as-needed basis for SUN TA project communications, in direct support of the Graphic Design Consultant. .

    Objectives and Duties

  • The SUN TA communications team is currently comprised of one local member of the staff and is supported by the SUN TA technical team in Lusaka, Zambia, a Senior Communications Advisor to SUN TA and SUN TA’s primary Graphic Design Consultant.

    General Graphic Design Support As Needed:

    • Quarterly and Annual Report

    • Communications Plan

    • Project print materials, as needed

    • Story-telling visuals, as needed

    • Support with PPT presentations, as needed

    • Repackaging of graphics for social media

    • Other graphic design support, as needed

    Deliverables:

  • Specifics for each deliverable will be provided at the onset of each assignment and assigned a specific level of effort either by the Communications Manager and the Senior Communications Advisor.

  • Reporting and Place of Performance

  • For day-to-day activities, the Graphic Design Support Consultant will report to the SUN TA Senior Communications Advisor. Final approvals and authorizations will come directly to the Chief of Party (COP), or the COP’s proxy. The consultancy is not dependent on location, although an Africa-based freelancer is preferred for communication and workflow purposes.

    Level of Effort (LOE)

  • LOE for this Scope of Work is currently to be determined. The Graphic Design Support Consultant will be used on an as needed basis to directly support project needs in the upcoming year and will be expected to prioritize this work as it comes.

    Qualifications

    • Seven to ten years of relevant work experience;

    • Excellent print design skills and proven experience designing high quality print products;

    • Experience working with USAID or other multinational entity, preferred;

    • Experience working with culturally diverse teams;

    • Degree in a relevant discipline such as graphic design, marketing, mass communications, or visual arts.
