  • Our client is a well-established manufacturer of animal feed.

  • They seek to hire an experienced area Sales Manager who will be responsible for the overall sales performance of the area and the team involved in selling in order to achieve sales goals.

  • The successful candidate will also be tasked with achieving, growing and sustaining sales revenues, sales volume and market share of the company.

    Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing a sales team that will achieve, exceed and sustain sales.

  • Provide stewardship and direction to sales representatives to enable target achievement, exceed and sustain sales.

  • Ensure that the sales team calls on farms as per the itinerary

  • Provide commercial expertise to the team and customers including field demonstrations and training

  • Ensure 100% target achievement on all business units and field activities.

  • Ensure 100% compliance to daily, weekly and monthly reporting.

  • Prepare sales and activity forecasts with each franchise and follow up to ensure 100% monthly target achievement.

  • Ensure all customers trade and operate within set trading terms. No overdue debts, non-invoiced sales.

  • Coordinate and facilitate franchisee and farmer activities.

  • Account for all field activities and expenses.

  • Provide leadership to product positioning and marketing strategies that generate sales and increase market share.

  • Set call, targets volume, recommends and execute commercial sales incentives.

  • Advice changes in selling price by monitoring cost, competition, supply, and demand.

  • Identifies farm engagement areas and recommend action activities improve.

  • Implement complaints handling procedures and timely close them

  • Recommend, plan, organize, and ensure execution of
    sale promotions

  • Contribute information and research leading to the development of new products

  • Address and close customer issues escalated within the required turnaround time

  • Provide commercial expertise to team and customers including field demonstrations

  • Routinely visit and drive engagement with the distributor and institutional customer.

    Qualifications

  • Must have a Degree in Market Research, Sales, Marketing or any related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience of with at least 3 years in a managerial position

  • Experience in the industry will be an added advantage.

  • Product knowledge, Product branding, Animal Feeds Industry (Added advantage)

  • Good interpersonal skills, Negotiation skills, commercial skills, questioning & listening skills, & planning skills, creativity and innovation

  • Organized, integrity, work with minimum supervision.

  • To work at flexible times and in rural areas. Travel 80: 30 office

  • Sales volume by Sales Reps

  • Sales revenues by the Sales team

  • New volume farms

  • Improved commercial knowledge by sales staff
