The Consortium for Enhancing University Responsiveness to Agribusiness Development Limited (Curad) is a public-private partnership initiative promoted by Makerere University, the National Union of Coffee Agribusinesses and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE), National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO).

CURAD is an agribusiness innovation incubator set up with the aim of boosting job creation and incomes within the Agricultural sector in Uganda using the agribusiness incubation model.

Agribusiness and Agripark Project: aBi Development Limited is partnering with CURAD to set up an Agripak Facility at Namanve Industrial Park which will be engaged in the production and marketing of fresh fruit, vegetables, dried fruits and packaging materials using the incubation model.

CURAD is now looking to fill up the following positions at the Agripark Facility Terms of References

Job Responsibilities:

  • Development of crop production and packing plans for CURAD at the facility in order to optimize output and productivity for incubates and customers
  • Analyse and report on post-harvest financial parameters established for the Agripark.
  • Report grower production data for reconciliation purposes and ensure that all data for grower line reporting
  • Ensure and manage a certifiable QMS, GAP, ISO 22000 and all relevant quality certification and Compliance and maintain facilities to optimum standard at all times. equipment, building assets and maintenance schedules
  • Manage and ensure all pack house technical specifications are implemented, managed, recorded, monitored and audibles as per CURAD specifications.
  • Optimize quality horticulture products outputs minimizing losses and assist in maintaining the recommended cold chain for all products delivered and dispatched from the agripark
  • Ensure all plant equipment and process areas are safe,
    clean and tidy and meet OSH and company requirements and ensure support staff are trained in and are conducting safe operating procedures for all equipment and machinery on site.
  • Ensure that all CURAD pack house policies & procedures are adhered to by staff
  • Managing stocks of raw materials and finished products and other items as required
  • Effective control of all employee relations, disciplinary, grievance and absenteeism related matters Overseeing the distribution/logistics from the pack house to market/airport

  • All the above jobs will be offered on a one-year contract with an option to extend based on the incumbent performance and funds.

  • These are a one-year Contract Jobs subject to renewal depending on performance Location: The incumbents will be mainly based at the Agripark Facility in Namanve but will also rotate to Curad's other sites at Kabonyolo Gayaza and Kapeeka Industrial Park, Kampala, Ladies are encouraged to apply
