Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
Main purpose of job:
To report on political, security, economic, humanitarian/development issues in Niger, to assist UK government visitors, and manage administrative and financial task of the British Embassy Office Niamey.
Roles and responsibilities:
Leads on finance managing an imprest, procuring, receiving funds, making payments; preparing monthly financial reports: Prepare the Network Prism Account (NPA) working with the Corporate Services team in Bamako
Draft frequent reports on the political and social situation of the country
Organising visit programmes for a wide range of visitors from London and the region
Manage logistics for and during visits
Maintain a good network of contacts including Embassies, international organisations, and press
Liaison with Protocol and the MFA for the office’s activities
Assist with consular work assisting British Nationals in country
Manage the administration of the office
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Political Reporting skills
Experience in Administrative work
Minimum qualification of a degree in Political Studies, Business Administration or related field
Use of Microsoft Outlook
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Work experience in an embassy
Collaborating and Partnering, Delivering Value for Money, Managing a Quality Service, Delivering at Pace
