  • Beacon of Hope (BOH) is a faith based Non-Governmental Organization with a vision to be a model of excellence in holistic community transformation with a Mission to catalyze sustainable transformation by uplifting the spiritual, physical, economic and social well-being of marginalized and vulnerable individuals, families and communities.

    Responsibilities

  • T1. Leader of Teaching and Learning: Assists the Head Teacher in developing The Beacon school environment and promote a culture of excellence, which is supportive of learning and high achievement among the students.

  • Assists the Head Teacher in supporting the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning across the Beacon school and contribute to The Beacon school self-evaluation and the development of improvement plans.

  • Ensure the vision for the Beacon school is clearly articulated, shared, understood and acted upon effectively by all

  • Research and lead creative and imaginative ways of anticipating and solving problems and identifying opportunities that will enhance the quality of education across the Beacon school

  • T2. Curriculum/Assessment: Steer the academic component of the school for the CBC and 844 curricula, education policies and programs; Organizes observation and supervision of educational activities.

  • T3. Leader – teams: Develops a good working relationship with the Principal, leadership team and teaching staff.

  • Assists the Head Teacher in promoting ongoing personal development and in-service and in the identification of the staffing needs of The Beacon school – i.e. teaching and support staff.

  • Instructor Supervision – Assumes responsibility for the implementation of the evaluation and promotion of professional growth of Teachers and Teachers on attachment (through meetings, setting objectives, classroom observations, and written reports).  

  • Coordinates staff development opportunities
    in conjunction with the instructional leadership team; organize and conduct Institute training and in-services.

  • T4. The Beacon school Development: Assists the Head Teacher in the re-evaluation of the purpose, objectives and activities of the The Beacon school in line with strategic plan.

  • T5. Communication, Organisational Management and Administrative Skills: submit quality and timely reports in agreed formats, Assist the Head Teacher with mobilization and recruitment of learners in the Beacon school; Assist the Head Teacher to ensure timely fee collection within the Beacon school; Responsible for the development of the Academic Calendar; Responsible for beginning of term and end of term processes.

  • Successful candidate will demonstrate Excellent leadership skills, mature Christian who is supportive of the beliefs, calling and vision of Beacon of Hope. Possess a degree in Education, highly organized with an eye for detail; a minimum of three years’ exposure to coordinating CBC and 844 curricular (multiskilled) and able to use new technologies for management.
