    About the Role:

  • We are seeking a qualified Sales Manager to join our growing team and drive Apollo’s growth plans by fully owning the Sales function. This role will be responsible for scaling Sales operations to meet the goal of developing our Sales portfolio by 3x. They will be responsible for the Field Sales vertical, working closely with the Leadership team and Field Operations Lead to develop and execute a sales strategy.

    Your Day-to-Day:

  • Design and Execute Sales Strategy: Design and implement a strategic sales plan to realize Apollo’s expansion goals. This will involve working closely with the Leadership team to develop the sales strategy, drive execution, and oversee monitoring and evaluation. Broadly, this will fit in the following key categories:

  • Sales Team Recruitment and Training: Oversee the resourcing of high-performing Field Sales teams across Apollo territories, to drive the scaling agenda through sales.

  • Team Incentives and Performance Management: Manage and iterate on existing systems to ensure Field Sales teams are highly motivated and meeting their goals.

  • Sales Insights and Feedback: Have an understanding of Sales data analysis, backed by a depth of Sales knowledge. Set and review key Sales metrics, being able to discern trends and generate insights that become actionable next steps.

  • Own and Drive the Sales Agenda: Be responsible for owning the messaging of the Sales function internally, and collaborate with the necessary departments e.g. Marketing, Logistics & Distribution, to execute
    on Sales drives.

  • Build scalable sales tools and systems: Leverage technology and Sales knowledge to design and update sales tools and systems that grow in line with the Apollo expansion goal, supporting the Field Sales teams continuously monitor and improve their individual and overall performance.

    You Are:

  • A seasoned Sales professional with at least 6 years of Sales experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably with a Field Sales context e.g. FMCG, peri-urban or rural settings, financial inclusion initiatives etc.

  • A strong leader with at least 3 years of team management experience in an environment that requires strategic and analytical thinking.

  • Conversant with Sales analytics, including intermediate Excel skills, familiarity with Sales dashboards etc.

  • Experience working in a fast-growing startup environment is a plus.
