Amnesty International Director - Amnesty International Jobs in South AfricaResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with relevant International Secretariat colleagues and programmes and the AI South Africa SMT, the Director is responsible for the following tasks:
Development and delivery of an implementation and operational plan towards achieving the above objectives and includes communications and mobilisation strategies and is aligned with the Strategic Goals and human rights and mobilization priorities in the region and globally.
Leadership and management
Develop and promote an organisational vision, human rights and growth strategy for AI South Africa which articulates the AI’s Strategic Goals and inspires and motivates internal and external stakeholders
Guide the recruitment, development and performance management of staff, volunteers and consultants, as needed, in order to ensure that impact oriented operational plans are delivered on time to a high standard and in compliance with AI’s Staff Terms and Conditions of Employment, related policies and local employment law.
Maintain quality control systems to ensure that the activities of Amnesty International South Africa meet the organizational standards of timeliness, accuracy, consistency, balance, independence and impartiality; and standards are consistent with Amnesty’s Quality Assurance Framework.
Ensure timely reporting against key performance indicators of the entity.
Manage the budget of Amnesty International South Africa and identifying funding needs
Accountable for the overall health safety and security of the office in order to ensure that the office carries out the facilities, logistical and administrative functions required in order to effectively carry out its activities and support those of AI South Africa.
Monitor and ensure the provision of internal and external reports on budgets and financial issues in line with the Financial Policy of Amnesty International South Africa and manage the annual audit of the financial accounts in compliance with local regulations to ensure that the operational plans are delivered in line with the approved budgets and with sound financial accountability
Ensure the organisation is compliant with all statutory laws and regulations and is transparent, accountable and meets all monitoring agreements
Required knowledge, skills and attitudes
Commitment to and substantial knowledge of social justice
Motivation and commitment to the vision and values of Amnesty International and Amnesty International South Africa
Demonstrated experience and excellent knowledge of political, economic and social trends in South Africa and deep understanding of challenges of developing activist organizations in the country
Sound, mature political judgment and integrity
Understanding of both physical and political security issues for operations in the region and ability to identify risks and safeguard staff and operations

Clinton Health Access Initiative Analyst, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Jobs in South Africa
Founded in 2002, by President William J. Clinton and Ira Magaziner, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc.
(“CHAI”) is a global health organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems and expanding access to care and treatment in the developing world.
The Analyst will be based in Pretoria and will report to the MMC Programme Manager. He/she will:
Monitor of PEPFAR Transition across 52 districts
Be responsible for monitoring VMMC program performance across public and private sector against targets
Support Provinces in the preparation of annual work plan(s) and budget(s) for the VMMC program
Assist with the strengthening/development of an M&E system and process to collect, analyze, and present data on national program performance and efficiency
Utilize analytics to monitor performance and highlight gaps to empower seconded VMMC provincial coordinators to address them
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics or Finance or a health-related discipline
A minimum of three years' professional experience in a private or public sector or non-governmental organization setting in the health sector
Understanding of the South Africa health sector, public and private
Excellent problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
Ability to work independently and effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to function well in a multi-disciplinary team (CHAI South Africa's programs share common targets and indicators);
Knowledge, experience and interest in innovative financing approaches for developing countries;
Experience with and/or interest in shaping national health policy decisions.

African Risk Capacity Risk Analyst Jobs in South Africa
Based in ARC Headquarters in Johannesburg, the Risk Analyst will be a member of the ARC Secretariat Technical Support Division supporting all aspects of the ARC Technical Support Division’s work, with a particular focus on the in-country interactions with ARC Member States. Reporting to the Technical Team Manager, the Risk Analyst’s responsibilities will include the following:
Understand ARC and the Africa Risk View software and its underlying methodology;
Assist the Technical Support Division on all matters relating to the customisation of Africa Risk View and preparation for participation in the insurance pool, including:
Conduct background research to understand the risk factors and risk profiles of ARC Member States;
Gather and prepare historical data on droughts and other natural disasters in ARC Member States;
Lead the data analysis and customisation work for assigned ARC Member States;
Support the drafting and review of customisation reports;
Monitor and verify Africa Risk View’s estimates against information from the ground;
Advanced university degree in Economics, Statistics, Food Security, Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Development Studies or similar relevant discipline
At least 5 years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in food security analysis or a closely related area, such as agricultural risk management or early warning
Experience in modelling of natural disasters (particularly drought) would be an asset.
Technical Skills & Languages:
Expert user of Microsoft Excel. Good knowledge of statistical packages, SPSS, Stata.
Basic knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing
Fluent in English and French; knowledge of Portuguese is an asset
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Reliability, attention to detail and problem solving skills
Ability to work both collaboratively and under the minimum supervision, and under tight deadlines
Availability to undertake frequent travel
