Job Purpose

  • Provide technical expertise in the delivery of superior product performance by designing and conducting tests.

  • Determines and maintains project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.

  • Provide support, champion and oversee the crafting of Airtel money consumer product innovation roadmap and ensuring the development and testing related products and services are successfully delivered.

    The Main Duties Are:

    New Product Build & UAT

    • Work hand in hand with networks and IT to build new products

    • Conduct User Acceptable Tests on all newly built systems

    • Ensure that built systems are able to support day to day business and user scenarios.

    • Ensure that the system is sufficient and correct for business usage

    • Plan release for newly built apps, etc
    Team/Stakeholder Engagement and Integrations-Project Management

    • Technical consultant to the commercial team

    • Drive system integration projects, Prepare appropriate commercial reporting and representation of portfolio performance.

    • Coordinate and manage projects for all new products – perform business analysis function, document and sign off all necessary documents – CBR, SoW, Prepare and track Project plan, regular update – weekly

    • Provide required product reports as input to the Airtel money weekly & monthly report, including roadmaps and performance against target dates.

    • Work closely with key cross-functional teams – Finance, Sales & Distribution, Customer Service, IT and Network in ensuring customer, agent and merchants’ issues relating to savings, credit and remittances are addressed in timely fashion and fully resolved to maintain a superior customer.

    Technical Consulting to Commercial

    • Assess IT Needs and Requirements for Airtel money products

    • Identify Potential IT Issues

    • Provide Technology Advice and Guidance

    • Integrate New Technology and Solutions

    • Improve Process Efficiency

    • Provide technical support during tender bidding
    Portal & APP Builds-Super- Agent/Merchant/Bulk-Pay/Pay-bill/Sales website

    • Build super-agent, merchant, bulk-pay, pay-bill and sales website

    • Manage APP build projects
    Reduction of Ambiguous Transactions

    • Build and manage system that reduces Airtel money ambiguous transactions

    • Drive initiatives enhancing reduction of Ambiguous Transactions

    Drive superior commercial results and financial returns

    • RA/CX Improvements Transactions

    • Drive system upgrades that Improve customers experience when performing transactions

    • Assist in engagement with the stakeholders

    • Strengthen commercial and financial analysis in roadmap decision and implementing products & enablers.

    • Feedback learning, market insights on savings, credit and remittance products lifecycle and reviews, communicating improvement to line manager.

    • Assist in defining and driving adoption of strong commercial and sound financial analysis, savings, credit and remittance products
    also support of new commercial launches.

    • Analyze market trends, technology trends in mobile financial services planning and tie in with changes brought forward on savings, credit and remittance business.

    • Project management of New integration and App Build
    Drive implementation of strong savings, credit and remittance products

    • Create strategic partnerships with various companies that will allow customers to access and pay for various products and services for different companies using Airtel Money

    • Manage savings, loans, insurance, sign up and remittance (any other relevant products’ as assigned from time to time) initiatives and keep driving Airtel money usage, base activity, and revenue for the growth of Airtel Money in Zambia.

    • Assist in development of a portfolio of complex Airtel Money products and enablers both domestically and internationally, actively tracking and developing new ideas.

    • Proactively research and investigate functionality suitable for the local market in relation to savings, credit and remittances and discuss with key stakeholders to obtain buy-in.

    • Improve customer experience on savings, credit and remittance products with improved customer journey, hence increasing convenience of the products

    • Ensure defined use cases and product requirements are correctly implemented by the technical team.

    • Assist other teams in developing sector specific products in line with Airtel consumer segments.

    • Track and monitor performance of savings, credit and remittance through marketing, usage and retention initiatives, advertising and sales.

    • New product build and UAT

    Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

    • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field and/or other related job experience

    Relevant Experience

    • 2- 5 years’ experience working in IT environment

    • Able to handle, prioritize, multiple projects simultaneously

    • IT literacy

    • Product development

    • Able to operate in a performance driven organisation

    • Excellent with MS Office products

    Other Requirements

    • Business awareness, strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, excellent negotiating skills, high personal standards and goal oriented, excellent interpersonal skills

    • Knowledge on Airtel products and services

    • Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and in writing

    • Excellent, high level knowledge; complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of expertise and general knowledge of other related disciplines.
