Responsibilities

Maintains 24 hours weekly to see patients at the clinic and support, providing initiation, treatment, care and follow up as required;

He will also be required to support other sites working in collaboration with AHF i.e FortBeaufort and Victoria Allies;

Ensures that all patients access various diagnostic tests, analyses, and evaluation or medical procedures that promote good clinical outcomes in accordance to standard guidelines;

Provides leadership in analysis of reports, tests, examination and facilitation of referrals to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment;

Participates in setting up and ensuring that up and down referral systems between the clinic and other upper or lower health units is operational within the agreed context with the department of health;

Responsible for maintaining delivery of high quality, cost effective medical care, and ensures efficiency of all services provided at the Middledrift healthcare center;

Audits deaths, dropouts and adherence to antiretroviral therapy, and provides the data to the M&E team;

Responsible for maintaining medical records and charts, following the guidelines as outlined by the Policies and Procedures;

Participates in Africa medical staff and medical meetings (at minimum, once a month) to discuss difficult patients and case management issues;

Maintains provider productivity to standards set by AHF management. This will include counseling medical staff and troubleshooting as necessary. Further help and guidance can be obtained by consulting the Project coordinator;

Ensure that all healthcare center staff participates in scheduled staff, and recommended CME (Continuing Medical Education), multidisciplinary team meetings in a manner that up holds peer interaction;

Prepares monthly or other important reports as necessary, and required by AHF management.

Interacts and liaises with partners of AHF in a manner that is professional and promotes the principle of positive collaboration;

Assists Project Coordinator in certain duties related to the ARV program as required

Undertakes any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
