    Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out research activities in accordance with the guidelines as provided by the project managers and researchers.
  • Conduct interviews, chart reviews and other data collection activities as required using a standardized questionnaire.
  • Collection of blood, urine and sputum sample and preparation of study samples for transport in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Administration, recording and organization of short patient questionnaires in preparation for data analysis.
  • Tracking, recording and reporting of patient test results to relevant site authorities and patient, and organization and filing of patient data.
  • Record-keeping and data management, including keeping records of patients test results as detailed in the study protocol. An electronic data management system will be used.
  • Communication with research project manager, relevant research study staff and hospital/clinic staff at site.
  • Tracking and requisition of necessary medical supplies for blood, urine and sputum sample collection.

    Responsibilities

  • Manages and supervises the clinical team members.
  • Provides clinical direction and support and general management oversite to all clinicians
    Ensures that all patients access various diagnostic tests.
  • Analyses and evaluates medical procedures and diagnostic tests that promote good clinical outcomes in accordance with standard guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining delivery of high quality medical care and efficiency of all services provided within the program.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement meetings and medical directors meetings to discuss difficult patients and management issues.

    Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other health care professionals (doctor, nurse, social worker, community health care worker, home-based caregiver, psychologist.) in maintaining treatment protocol.
  • Provide direct and comprehensive primary, preventive and therapeutic care to patients. How is documentation of their care conducted? Refers to support groups and these are recorded in support group register.
  • Teach and counsel patients, family on disease prevention and staying healthy.
  • Assist patients with
    adherence counseling and document the session in counseling form.
  • Provide ongoing psychosocial counseling to clients attending the clinic.
  • Assist with the reading and interpretation of the CD4 count results to clients.
  • Brings questions and concerns to the physician as necessary.
  • Maintain filing system for all client records including psychosocial forms, laboratory results and medical records. Client confidentiality to be maintained at all times.
  • Enter client visit details into the psychosocial register and the Global Trak databasewhen providing cover for data capturer.
  • Provide training to patients ready for ARV treatment and provide them with the clinical and laboratory goals of ARV’s.
  • Provide the Admin Manager with weekly and monthly statistics of patients visiting the clinic, for purposes of reporting
  • Identify clients who are defaulting and furnish team with relevant information for intervention.
  • Prepare patients for the ARV’s and provide them with information of the clinical goals of ARV’s.
  • Provide patients with appropriate information on laboratory goals of ARV’s and the conditions necessary for successful ART.
  • Participate in daily team de-briefing sessions.
  • Preparation for weekly sessions with supervisor by noting challenges encountered and planning for the next weeks activities.
  • Prepare monthly report on services rendered for submission to supervisor.
  • Assist administrative team as requested.
