Aga Khan University Executive Officer, Network of Quality, Teaching and Learning Jobs in Kenya The Network of Quality, Teaching and Learning (QTL_net), aims to support excellence in AKU’s academic programmes to ensure a strong student learning experience.
The Network enables AKU graduates to meet their programme learning outcomes.
Quality Assurance and Improvement (QAI_net) and Teaching and Learning (TL_net) offer a range of services, resources and programmes to faculty and entities on teaching excellence, scholarship and programme reviews.
Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost (AVP), QTL_net, the Executive Officer will be required to provide high level administrative support whilst managing and coordinating the Networks; with the aim of achieving service programme enhancement and faculty development.
Specific responsibilities include:
Managing databases and reporting systems for purposes of generating concise data and reports
Monitoring and evaluating the progress of programmes and activities against the strategic plan
Producing analytical reports on the progress and impact of the Network’s initiatives
Supporting AVP with Strategy and Planning
Leading the communications efforts of the Network within the University, as well as externally, including the development, implementation and monitoring of a communications strategy to enhance the visibility of QTL_net
Conceptualising, monitoring and maintaining the online content for QTL_net on all its platforms, including QTL website and AKU portal, by liaising with the website team
Leading the annual budgetary preparation process and monitoring and advising on budget implementation
working on special projects on behalf of the Networks where required
Liaising with HR and other relevant units for different activities
Representing the AVP on committees and liaising with other departments for specific tasks or projects
Providing executive administrative support to assigned committees
Overseeing logistical arrangements for Network activities.
You should have:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Education Management, Public/Business Administration or Social Sciences.
Minimum of 4 years’ work experience preferably in Academic Management/Administration, Programme/Project Management or the Education Sector (previous Experience in Higher Education will be an advantage)
Demonstrated experience in successful content writing based on market research and real data
Demonstrated experience in budget preparation
Demonstrated competence working with Microsoft
Excellent communication skills – written and oral
Excellent interpersonal skills.
