Responsibilities

  • Provide good quality translation from English into French of documents, ensure accuracy of terms and terminology used in the source, and consult with the author when required;
  • Provide support in editing documents drafted in French;
  • Provide advice to Project Coordinator in relation with hiring the services of Translators and interpreters if need be

    Requirements

  • Holds at least at least a Bachelor’s degree in translation from English to French. A Post Graduate
  • Degree/Diploma or Master’s Degree in same field will be an added advantage. A certification/specialization
    certificate in translation and interpretation will be an advantage.
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience, and expertise in English to French translation of institutional documents(administrative, legal, diplomatic...)
  • Have relevant legal knowledge and experience in international setting.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the AU Administrtive Bodies and the Administrative Tribunal through quality preparation of annual and quarterly work plans, including budgets;
  • Undertake project monitoring and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual implementation
    reports, both physical and financial for all the governance bodies;
  • Provide communication support on the project to the Staff, and logistical support to project activities and personnel when required
  • Ensure that the inputs are relevant to the activities, the activities are results-oriented and ensure the values of the commission are observed throughout the project implementation, including compliance with the
    Rules and Regulation of the Union;
  • Plan the activities of the project and monitor progress against the approved work-plan and budget
  • Prepare the annual work plan for the following year, as well as quarterly plans
  • Prepare the annual review report, and submit the report to the Deputy Chief of Staff.
  • Monitor events as determined in the project monitoring schedule plan, and update the plan as required
  • Manage and monitor the project risks initially identified and progressively provide management updates and submit new risks if any to Managementt for consideration and decision on possible actions if required.

    Requirements

  • University Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognized University and a certificate in Project Management or a related field with 3-4 years of experience in specific area of project requiring legal expertise in an international
    organization’s context and preparing project reports and management plans.

    Responsibilities

  • Execute, in a timely manner, all set targets and outputs under ongoing project, including Organization of workshops, national-level assessment and assistance missions, and oversee substantive and administrative preparations;
  • Follow up on developments taking place at the regional and international level in relation to arms control, including resolutions by the UN Security Council, Peace and Security Council, UN intergovernmental meetings on small arms and other relevant forums, assess trends which might affect political situations, and recommend possible action by the AU;
  • Prepare inputs for briefing notes, talking points and statements on disarmament related matters for senior staff and officials and prepare website and social media updates;
  • Formulate project proposals and actively undertake fund-raising efforts in order to support the AU’s activities;
  • Provide secretarial support to the AU-Regions Steering Committee on SALW and DDR, including
    preparing agendas, talking points, and reports;
  • Maintain regular communication with RECs, the United Nations, international partners, and other
    entities involved in disarmament issues to ensure sharing of information and harmonization of plans and activities where appropriate;

    Requirements

  • University Bachelor Degree in political science, international relations, international law, or a related field with3-4 years of experience in specific area of disarmament affairs, mine action, Disarmament, demobilization,
    Reintegration (DDR), Conflict Management. Experience in programme/project management at the international level is desirable.

  • Manage all aspects of In-house investment portfolios.
  • Forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions.
  • Understand, manage, and supervise all aspects of cash flow.
  • Direct, monitor and trade investment portfolios including Working capital, High-Yield, Escrow, and other portfolios.
  • Manage long-term and short-term investment strategies.
  • Determine the organization’s goals and risk tolerance.
  • Determine the organization’s tax position and the applicability of taxable/non-taxable instruments.
  • Assess risk/return trade-offs in guidelines.
  • Assess performance benchmarks and recommend changes when warranted.
  • Review and recommend changes to the investment policies based on the market conditions.
  • Prepare or monitor AU’s cash flow forecasts and perform financial modelling.
  • Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies.
  • Understand and manage appropriate accounting procedures and processes to meet the organization’s needs
  • Manage relationships with financial service providers.
  • Monitor bank service fees and address quality issues.

    Requirements

  • University Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 7 years of experience out of which at least 5 years of relevant working experience as Principal Officer in Treasury. In addition, Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Knowledge of investment portfolio Strategy, Banking & Financial Instruments, General knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SEC reporting requirements for investments and other financial instruments is mandatory
