ACTS Research Assistant Jobs
The Research Assistants will coordinate and support work under the air quality project under the Climate Resilient Economies Program. They will provide technical input as well as preform administrative functions. Specific Responsibilities
The Research Assistants will work under the Climate Resilient Economies (CRE) program. Specific responsibilities include:Data collection in Kampala, Uganda and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Support design and implementation of activities under the project
Assist in technical writing and reporting on the project
Developing and following through with work plans
Assist in convening project meetings, policy dialogues and dissemination workshops.
Attending project meetings
Communication with the project team and other stakeholders
Perform any other research, capacity building and policy-related duties as may be assigned.
MSc in environmental science, air quality, earth science, environmental health or a relevant natural or social science degree.
Knowledge of one or more of the following: air quality, climate change biodiversity and natural resource management and energy issues
2-4 years’ experience in relevant research.
Experience in project management will be an added advantage
Fluency in English (for both Research Assistants) and additional fluency in Amharic for the Addis Ababa based Research Assistant. Knowledge of additional UN language(s) preferably French is an added advantage
Strong analytical skills and writing ability
Experience with data collection and analysis
Multi-stakeholder engagement skills
Good networking and partnership skills
Ability to multi-task across research and corporate function
Stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
Good interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Reporting to: Research Fellow, Climate Resilient Economies Programme
Contract duration: 12 months
Remuneration: Based on academic qualifications and experience
