Job Summary The role will be responsible for the delivery of end-to-end supplier assurance services to stakeholders across Africa, whilst operating in a dynamic environment subject to business, financial, regulatory, and customer pressures.
The jobholder must possess strong stakeholder management skills in order to influence and provide direction to stakeholders within the business managing Supplier Risk, Group Procurement teams, Internal Audit and external service providers.
Overall job purpose
• Deliver all supplier assurance services in line with relevant policies, standards and target operating model
• Identify areas of control weakness or strength for suppliers, driving proactive remediation and action
• Support and advise the business in developing remediation plans for control weakness
• Track, review and report on the management of Supplier risk across Africa
• Analyse all data in aggregate to identify trends and indicators of thematic issues
Job Description
The role will support the Africa business by delivering an end-to-end supplier assurance service that consists of some or all of the following key areas:
Accountability: Assurance
IT Security controls review – provide assurance on the effectiveness of IT security controls implemented by suppliers;
Test of controls – providing assurance that key controls within Group Procurement critical processes are adequately designed and operating effectively;
Conformance Monitoring -conformance monitoring / testing required to provide comfort on compliance to t Group Procurement policy and Standards are being
Supplier Assurance reporting and management information (MI) production –MI production, reporting and analysis.
Controls remediation tracking -The provision of one central view of all remediation activities. This involves the tracking of all agreed remediation plans and due dates from assurance activities such as open audit issues, risk assessment gaps, controls failures etc.
Controls remediation advisory –providing advisory services and sharing of
best practice in control weakness remediation
Accountability: Relationship Management
Experience building relationships with internal customers and externally if required.
Act as a subject matter expert within the Africa region for Supplier Assurance
• Proven ability to operate in a matrix organization
Education and experience required
B-degree (NQF level no. 6-7)
(3-5) years relevant experience
Delivery of Business controls and governance
Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships at all levels in the bank and external to the bank
Practical understanding of relevant regulatory environment
Preferred
Undergraduate and graduate degrees in relevant subject matter; professional risk management qualifications and certifications desirable.
Relevant certification will be an advantage (CIA/CISA/CRISC)
Knowledge and skills:
Experience in reviewing IT Security and/or procurement related controls
In-depth understanding of business activities and functions
Good understanding of risk management frameworks and compliance activities
Analysis, problem solving and decision making•
Ability to understand and communicate risk posture, possible impact on business function, and paths for remediation.
