Responsibilities for this role include:

Financial Management

• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements, collate financial reporting materials for all income generating segments.

• Ensure that all the records, systems and processes are in full compliance with the annual audit requirements.

• Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the General Manager and staff, administer and review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress and changes and keep the
General Manager abreast of the organization's financial status.

• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting

• Prepare and present monthly bank reconciliations

• Implement a robust contracts and supplier management system to ensure that the procurement process is fully complied with.

• Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual. Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to General Manager in a timely manner and advise on implications to the organization's achievement of overall strategy

• Work closely with the sales and operations department to ensure that expected collections by operations teams tallies with the cash reported.

• Ensure that SSG meets its tax and statutory obligations in time.

• Supervise the preparation of monthly staff remunerations

• Supervise staff in the department including the Accounts Officer, Receptionist and the Janitor to ensure maximum performance.

    • Keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies and evaluate operational performance

    • Should be proficient in English and Luganda

    • Experience in operations management and/or finance with a strong analytical background or experience as an entrepreneur. Preference will be given to candidates with experience of working in an audit firm.

    • Degree in Statistics, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or any related fields Prior work experience, demonstration of ability or qualifications in project management, accounting/finance (CPA/ACCA) and software like QuickBooks or Tally are preferred.

    • Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
