The Project Development Officer will serve as the key link person in the implementation of the EAC Regional Strategy on Scaling up Access to Modern Energy Services (“The Strategy”)between the EAC Secretariat, Development Partners and the Private Sector.
Main purpose of the Job:
To secure plan, coordinate and monitor implementation of the Strategy activities with the Nile Basin and Great Lakes Initiatives and other regional cooperation arrangements in Eastern Africa.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Masters Degree in Development Economics, Energy, Engineering, Natural Resource Management or a related field. 8 years of relevant experience 3 of which should be at a Senior level.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should demonstrate good leadership, Planning competencies, excellent interpersonal relations, Communication Skills, networking skills, negotiation skills, team building skills, supervisory skills, project implementation skills, monitoring and evaluation skills; and must have attention to detail.
S/He must be a team player be able to demonstrate experience in analysis and planning, project preparation and financing in the energy sector, have the ability develop and evaluate proposals and business plans and aptitude to maintain good working relations with a diverse group of Professionals, Strong analytical skills in Economic Planning and Management as well as knowledge of energy sector, the private sector, financiers and public sector set-up in the East African Region.
