Recruitment Qualifications


  • An advanced degree in economics, with a specialization in public finance, especially as it applies at the sub-national level.

    The individual is expected to be fully conversant in the use and interpretation of quantitative techniques for economic analysis.

  • Good computer and Internet skills.


  • Minimum of ten years of policy experience in Nigeria, including substantial experience in working with senior policy makers.

    The individual is expected to have a track record of providing policy advice on macroeconomic and/or sectoral issues, as demonstrated through original research, leadership in designing and executing policy studies, and preparing policy reports (macro or sector studies).

  • A strong network of contacts among senior policymakers and development professionals in Nigeria.
  • Ability to benchmark milestones and undertake target achievement assessments in project implementation is a basic requirement.

    Language Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and oral skills in English is a fundamental requirement.

    Fluency in one or more national languages is strongly desired.

    Other Requirements:

    This is a National position and therefore carries no expatriate benefits.
