IRIN is a unique humanitarian news and analysis service.
Part of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, IRIN provides original content about emergencies to an audience of millions worldwide through the internet, TV and radio.
IRIN seeks dynamic, experienced media and/or humanitarian professionals for two key management positions: Head of Office, Middle East/Asia and Senior Editor, East, Central and the Horn of Africa.
Applicants will have at least seven yearsâ€™ experience (at least two in an international context) in the humanitarian and/or journalism fields, excellent written and oral communication and inter-personal skills, knowledge and experience of the Middle East and/or Asia (Africa for the Nairobi post) and at least two yearsâ€™ in management.
Candidates should hold a relevant advanced university degree; a first level degree combined with extensive relevant professional experience may be accepted.
Excellent spoken and written English is required, together with fluency in Arabic (Dubai post) and a working knowledge of French (Nairobi post).
PC and Web proficiency are required.
