Genesis Job & Internship Positions in South Africa

Graduate Scholarships » International Scholarships »

Genesis welcomes applications for both permanent positions and internships from candidates from both African and international backgrounds, who have spent a significant period either living or working in Africa or the Middle East.

These candidates are offered an opportunity to work in policy-making, development and related fields, in a developing country setting with all the amenities of an advanced economy.

Currently all internship and permanent opportunities are at our office in Johannesburg, South Africa, however, we have imminent expansion plans for an office in the UAE.

Genesis has an active and flexible internship programme for individuals in, entering, or finishing post graduate study.

Internships can range from 1 to 12 months and usually involve a deep immersion in actual project work.

Whilst internships have in the past led to offers of permanent employment, this is not always the case.

Please note that short term internships are only available for South African based candidates.

Entry Level Positions

For entry level positions (from new graduates to people with 3 years relevant experience) we annually run two structured recruitment rounds. These are the International Recruitment Round, and the African Recruitment Round.

  • African round: The process is for students currently at African institutions and has now been completed. We will begin the process again in March / April.

The academic requirement for both rounds is a strong master's degree in economics.

To participate in either round, you will be required to send the following information to :

    (i) a motivational letter of 500 words or less,

    (ii) a two page CV,

(iii) an electronic version of your academic transcripts, and
