Key skills:

  • Fluency in English

  • University degree in social work or other social sciences, public health, community health or a related field.
  • Knowledge of gender and/or gender-based violence especially pertaining to the situation in Uganda
  • Previous experience implementing GBV in conflict/post conflict situations, with an International NGO, an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health issues.
  • Knowledge of service provider structures in Northern Uganda

  • Familiarity with international standards for GBV programs Counseling skills and experience
  • Training skills (at least one year of training experience) Supervisory and staff management skills
  • Experience working with IDPs/refugees preferred
  • Experience in implementing programs and coordination with UN agencies a plus
  • Diplomacy and assertiveness; the ability to confront and discuss sensitive issues with respect and care
