World Vision Response Director, WV Careers Uganda


Purpose of Position:

  • Provide strategic leadership to program design, management, Implementation and coordination of response programs in West Nile-Uganda to meet humanitarian needs in a timely, efficient and effective manner.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership:

  • Establish a human resource development plan, and manage staff development /growth in order to build a cadre of high performing staff.
  • Provide leadership to the response team to ensure relief program implementation in a coordinated and effective manner.
  • Ensure that relief programs are in alignment with government relief and recovery plans, and where appropriate, relief programming is contributing to the formulation and implementation of those plans.

    Knowledge skills & Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in International Relations and related fields or Postgraduate Diploma in Humanitarian Emergency Affairs or any other related field.
  • Experience in management and knowledge of accounting methods and procedures.
  • Clear understanding of the functioning of major UN agencies, international donors and governmental agencies in their respective programs, approaches and standards.

    World Vision Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant Careers in Uganda

    Purpose of the position:

  • To support the project in systematic data collection and management of up to date databases for timely and evidence based reporting, to ensure quality programming and accountability within the framework of World Vision and Harvest Plus standards and guidelines.

    Major Responsibilities:

  • Data Management
  • Perform Routine data processing and entry and assist in both quantitative and qualitative analysis & preparation of draft M&E reports that will allow for an enhanced output analysis
  • Take lead in systematic data collection through assessments to assess the project outcomes and provide actionable recommendations to improve the program.
  • Track project progress through standardised data collection tools and methodologies
  • Support the project team with data management and identifying programmatic issues and prompt corrective actions to enhance the project objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and other associated guidelines
  • Ensure compliance and processing protocols in order to meet standards for quality and accuracy.
  • Review of reports and sub-project documents:
    Review all project reports and ensure they have compliance with donor standard
  • Providing overall guidance and support in checking quality of the project reports

    Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical
    Skills and Experience


  • Minimum of a Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Development Studies or Social work and Social Administration with a post graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • At least 2 years of Demonstrated experience in participatory, community-driven facilitation skills and experience in data management.
  • Excellent demonstrated M&E including situation analysis and problem definition, report writing skills and written communication skills in English
    Demonstrated ability to design/formulate monitoring tools
  • 2 years’ Experience of working with vulnerable communities and familiarity with food distribution and rights based programs

    World Vision Senior Advisor, Quality & Innovation (Education) Careers in Uganda

    Job Description

    Position location to be determined by home country of successful candidate within a jurisdiction (country or US state) where WVI is registered to operate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Set Strategic Priorities:

  • Within the context of the Partnership strategy, responsible for helping us answer “what sector approaches drive impact”, “what learning can we apply” and ‘what new innovations should we adopt’.
  • Champion cross-sector collaboration around scalable innovative solutions.
  • Develop sector guidance ((including global minimum standards, project models, capacity building strategies and curricula, and M&E tools).

    External Engagement:

  • Keep abreast of latest developments and innovations in the broader sector that is relevant to WV and share them internally.
  • Benchmark with peers and other relevant organisations to learn best practice and ensure we are cutting edge.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant academic field
  • In-depth knowledge of sector programming including evidence based sector programming.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in sector programming in field location.
