Job Description

Title: Driver-Coaster (3 positions)

Reporting to: Logistics Officer

Location: Yumbe District

Purpose of the position:

To drive authorized passengers, transport goods and services (information) and check the mechanical condition of the World Vision vehicle regularly and act accordingly in line with World Vision policies.

Major Responsibilities

Drive World Vision Coaster bus/authorized passengers to specified destinations as approved by the supervisor in line with World Vision vehicle usage policy.

Deliver packages, goods and mails and any other information to specified people, places and offices in line with World Vision policies.

Check the vehicle status/condition e.g. engine oil, water, nuts, battery water, license, Third Party Insurance, brakes, tyre pressure etc prior to any journey and carry out regular vehicle repairs e.g. correcting hard start, tightening bolts and nuts, topping up battery water, etc in line with World Vision policy.

Monitor the security of vehicle, authorized passengers and luggage in line with the vehicle policy.

Report all major and minor damages and accidents on the vehicle at hand to the supervisor in line with World Vision vehicle policies

Prepare and submit vehicle monthly reports in line with the World Vision Vehicle Policy

Ensure that the Coaster bus is clean and in a good mechanical condition

Be responsible, accountable to meet set targets

Ensure safe and secure items carried on the vehicle

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The Coaster Bus Driver should have completed Minimum an

Ordinary Level Certificate (UCE) or its equivalent

Possession of Defensive Driving and Certificate in

Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage

Possess a valid driving license- classes DM, DL, B and CM.

The applicant must be prepared to undergo Traffic Police Driving Test

At least five years of relevant experience

Ability to write and speak English

Ability to check minor defects on the vehicle

Possess demonstrable

customer care skills

Willing to work long hours and stay in the location where the job is located.
