Scholarhip Bottlenecks

Why is it that most UK and USA firms/schools awarding scholarship often come up with some weird and stringent criteria? This is not to undermine their efforts anyway, but the fact remains that there are thousands of people wallowing out there for a single help. Some time you hear them come up with examinations that some poor Africans cannot even afford and in some cases are not even aware of those examination bodies e.g TOFEL,SAT,IELT etc. This is not to say that those prospective candidates are not good enough in their chosen careers. Can some please tell them that we Africans are sick and tired of their pranks! I will be glad if this complaint is heard in a broader spectrum, at least to their ear drum.

I wouldn't put it that blatantly but I totally agree with the writer I can assure you that students seeking scholarships on this website can barely afford the basics let alone to sit for tests that cost them more than they make in a month. I definitely understand his frustration. This has been a problem that has plagued many and I hope that a solution is in the pipeline. We don't want money handed to us, all we ask for is opportunity. we do understand the need for restrictions yet we fear that some of them may be the reason there is no future in sight. Most of those seeking scholarships are willing to work for them.
