Comic Relief Programme Manager

Role Purpose:

  • The Comic Relief Programme Manager will provide strategic leadership and is accountable for providing management and oversight of the implementation of the Comic Relief programme and to represent and advocate for Save the Children’s work and organizational priorities with a wide range of external parties including government representatives, communities, donors, UN and other agencies operating in Songwe and at Dar es Salaam level.
    Contract Duration: 1 year
    Location: Dar es Salaam with regular visits to Mbozi, Songwe

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Science, Policy or equivalent fields.
    · Minimum five years of relevant area work experience in leading design and implementation of development programmes (a background in education/early childhood development programming is desirable but not essential).
    · Experience of leading complex, innovative and adaptive programmes within a context of wider sector change.
    · Demonstrated experience in working effectively with CSOs, beneficiaries and stakeholders.

    Save the Children Deputy Director of Programme Implementation Jobs in Tanzania

    Contract Duration: 1 year

    Location: Dar es Salaam with 25 -35% travel to field locations

    Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a development (INGO/NGO/Donor) environment, including significant field operations experience running both emergency and development programmes
  • Master’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Robust experience of NGO programme cycle management, and with experience of working within a complex and matrix organisation structure
  • A very good understanding of at least 3 of the sectoral programmes and a working knowledge of the programme priorities of the Country Office
  • Significant knowledge of international humanitarian systems, institutions and donors, and of procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices in emergency management
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control and securing and managing grants from major institutional donors
  • Solid project management skills related to organisational development projects and international, cross-functional teams with a proven history of delivering results
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
  • An in-depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to children
