Samaritan’s Purse (SP) is working in the world’s newest country - South Sudan - a country in desperate need of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Description of Job duties:

  • Direct line management of food and agriculture assistance staff and drivers in the districts of operation, including performance review, ongoing direction, support, encouragement and correction.
    Update HR records for all project staff in the districts of operation, sending monthly reports to Human Resources, Program Manager for attendance, leave and contractual changes as they arise.
  • Ensure effective budget management and administration of project finances, including adherence to SP financial management guidelines.
  • Act as official SP representative to stakeholders for all matters concerning Emergency Relief in districts of operation.
  • With a generous and serving spirit perform all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse.

    Job requirements:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
    Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • 2-3 years working in disaster contexts.
    2-3 years of cross cultural management experience.

    Job Description

    Are you an experienced and creative technical writer with financial analysis and planning skills with a passion for people? Join us as the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at Samaritan’s Purse in South Sudan! The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will report to the Director of Finance/Finance Manager and coordinate closely with the projects support team for the SP South Sudan office.

    Description of Job duties:

  • Maintain detailed records for all financial/grant funded reports in an organized and professional manner.
  • Ensure grant documents and required reports, agreements, asset lists, etc. are filed and kept for audit purposes
  • Review and ensure accuracy of financial transactions for SP grant-funded field operations based in the region as appropriate (includes vouchers, FERs, Cash payments, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with different donors’ procurement rules and regulations
  • Maintain close and cooperative working relationships with fellow projects staff and the Finance Manager.

    Job requirements:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year College or university; or three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Experience working for INGO’s, preferably in Africa.
  • 3 years’ experience in grants/contracts management.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of donor requirements especially (USAID, OFDA, CIDA, UNHCR, WFP, CHF, etc.)
  • Proven understanding of financial reports and budgeting preferred.

    Samaritan Purse Emergency Health and Nutrition Program Manager Vacancies in South Sudan

    Job Description

    Nutrition programming is an important part of Samaritan’s Purse operations in
    South Sudan. Serving the nutritional needs of the refugees and internally displaced persons opens up the door for the gospel, which provides true healing through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

    Description of Job duties:

  • Ensure the daily field-level execution of Nutrition and Health programs against all set objectives and targets within the agreed budgets and time-frames.
  • Oversee distribution of International Emergency Health Kits (IEHKs) and medications to pre-identified clinics.
  • Oversee distribution of Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) to pre-identified clinics.
  • Work with local health capacity to train on use, storage, and disposal of all medication and RUTF provided.
  • Follow up with individual clinics to ensure proper utilization of IEHKs

    Job requirements:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Nursing Degree and qualifications from an accredited school of nursing as well as a valid license to practice as a registered nurse
  • 2-3 years nursing experience preferably pediatric and/or emergency medicine
  • 1-2 years previous international public health experience, preferably in nutrition programming
  • Management and capacity building experience of national staff in INGO programming
  • Ability to work in austere conditions with few amenities or resources
  • Willingness to travel in and out of field.
  • Arabic language a strong asset

    Samaritan Purse Fleet Manager Vacancies in South Sudan

    Job Description

    Samaritan’s Purse (SP) is looking for a motivated individual who enjoys the challenge of fleet management and operations as a Fleet Manager, and who takes that challenge as a calling to ensure our relief and ministry programming run smoothly in South Sudan.

    Description of Job duties:

  • Assess current size and state of fleet and implement a maintenance program, fleet management manual, and make recommendations for improvements.
    Repair diesel vehicles (and a few petrol vehicles), quadbikes, motorbikes and generators (1 KVA - 250 KVA).
  • Put in place a system that guarantees spare parts are purchased and delivered to program locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all fleet users are trained and comply with the requirements of transport and fleet management manual.
  • Guarantee that the manufacturer recommended servicing schedule of all vehicles and generators is carried out.

    Qualifications:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
    Five to Eight year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of related education and experience; Bachelor’s degree not required, but strongly preferred.
    One year of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working overseas, particularly in Africa, South Sudan or Sudan.
    Field level management experience.
  • Previous experience working in logistics or operations or fleet management.
  • Experienced in cross-cultural team leadership.
    Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Understanding of local culture is essential.
