Office of the Director of Public Prosecution Jobs in Kenya

Pursuant to Section 13 (2) of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act No. 2 of 2013, the Office shall have power to appoint, control and supervise its staff in a manner and for such purposes as may be necessary for the promotion of the purpose and the object for which the Office is established.

1. Office of the Director of Public Prosecution Senior Assistant Director Supply Chain Management Jobs in Kenya

Requirements for Appointment


  • Served in the grade of Assistant Director Supply Chain Management or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector for a minimum period of two (2) years;
  • Diploma in Supply Chain Management or its approved equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • A Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:- Business Administration (Supply Chain Option), Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management or any other relevant field from a recognized institution;
  • Masters Degree in any of the following:- Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce; Logistics and any other relevant field from a recognized institution;
  • A certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution; and
  • Be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management with a practicing license.

    In addition to the above requirements an officer must have the following skills:-

  • Understanding of procurement systems and procedures required in the management of functions within ODPP;

    supply chain management programmes;

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will head the Supply Chain Management division and he/she will be responsible directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions professionally and administratively for efficient and effective management of the division. Specifically,
    duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-

  • Analyzing Supply Chain Management structures and systems; initiating and developing Supply Chain Management policies and performance improvement strategies that are adaptive to the changing environment and technology;
  • Coordinating development of strategic plans for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions;
  • Implementing the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015 and ensuring adherence to procedures, rules and regulations;
  • Advising the Accounting Officer on Supply Chain Management matters and ensuring high professional Supply Chain Management standards;
  • Preparing professional opinions to Accounting Officer on all procurements;
  • Procurement planning and budget preparation;
  • Advising County Offices on Supply Chain Management matters and interpreting of other laws and statutes that impact on Supply Chain Management matters;
  • Maintaining and updating bi-annually standing lists of registered suppliers required by the procuring entity and liaising with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority in respect of the Authority’s register of suppliers and procuring agents;
  • Preparing, publishing and distributing procurement and disposal opportunities including invitations to tender, pre-qualification documents and invitations of
    expressions of interest;
  • Submitting shortlisted and lists of pre-qualified suppliers to the Accounting Officer for approval;
  • Proposing the membership of evaluation, negotiations, inspection and acceptance committee to the
    accounting officer for approval;
  • Preparing and publishing notice of award and notices of tender acceptance;
  • Providing information, as required for any petition or investigation to debar a supplier or contractor or investigations under review procedures;
  • Implementing the decisions of the Accounting Officer and disposal committee including coordinating all activities of these committees;
  • Preparing and submitting to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority reports required under the Act, these regulations and guidelines of the Public
    Procurement Oversight Authority;
  • Monitoring contract management by user departments to ensure implementation of contract in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract;
  • Reporting any significant departures from the terms and conditions of the contract to the head of the procuring entity;
  • Recommending on the delegation of a procurement or disposal function to another procuring entity whenever a need arises;
  • Preparing consolidated procurement and disposal plans;
  • Advising the procuring entity on aggregation of procurement to promote economies to scale;
  • Coordinating internal monitoring and evaluation of the supply chain function;
  • Carrying out periodic market surveys to inform the placing of orders or adjudication by the relevant award committee;
  • Conducting periodic and annual stock taking;
  • Certifying the invoices and payment vouchers to suppliers;
  • Approving extension of the tender validity period;
  • Verifying that the available stock levels warrant initiating a procurement process; and
  • Carrying out any other functions and duties as may be provided under the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act or any other functions that might be stipulated by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority.
