National Industrial Training Authority Jobs

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) is a State Corporation established under the Industrial Training (Amendment) Act of 2011. The mandate of the Authority is to promote the highest standards in the quality and efficiency of industrial training in Kenya and ensure an adequate supply of properly trained manpower at all levels in the industry.


The Authority wishes to recruit results oriented Kenyan citizens with drive, vision and creativity to fill various positions at its Headquarters based in Nairobi and other centers to ensure delivery of its mandate.

Applications are hereby invited from suitability qualified persons to fill the following vacancies in the Authority:-

Directorate of Industrial Training

1. Senior Hospitality Officer Jobs in Kenya
(1 Post) (Grade 9) HRA/DIT/01/2016

Reporting to the respective Centre Manager, the job holder will be responsible for:
  • Implementing policies, guidelines and procedures governing hospitality section;
  • Advising Management on issues relating to hospitality;
  • Researching on and developing aesthetic settings;
  • Implementing and enforcing of quality policies;
  • Supervising and managing staff;
  • Budgeting for the Hospitality section ;
  • Liaising with procurement and accounts for timely procurement of supplies;
  • Developing specification for their supplies.

    The successful candidate must:
  • Have a degree in either hotel and catering management or hotel and hospitality
    management from a recognized institution:
    OR
  • Have a degree in any other field and a diploma in either of the following disciplines, catering and hotel management, hospitality management or
    institutional management from a recognized institution
  • Have attended supervisory skills development course not less than two (2) weeks.
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant experience in the hospitality industry;
  • Be proficient in computer applications
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.

    2. Industrial Training Officer Jobs in Kenya (10 Posts) (Grade 7) HRA/DIT/02/2016

    Reporting to the Senior Industrial training Officer, the job holder will be responsible for:
  • Developing training plans ;
  • Implementing training plans;
  • Preparing assessment tools and materials;
  • Setting and marking of examinations, guiding and assessing trainees in their course work;
  • Preparing and organizing training materials;
  • Preparing work plans and budgets;
  • Maintaining training equipment in desired conditions;

    The successful candidate must:
  • Be a holder of Diploma in mechanical, electrical/electronics, automotive, building and construction, refrigeration and air conditioning, P.V. solar installation, textile, fashion & design from a recognized institution;
  • Be in possession of a relevant competence certificate;
  • Be in possession of instructor’s training course of not less than 4 weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Have experience of not less than two years in the industry;

    Directorate of Finance and Levy Administration

    3. Manager Finance Jobs in Kenya
    (1 Post) (Grade 12) – HRA/DFLA/01/2016

    Reporting to Director General, the job holder will be responsible for overseeing the
    implementation of sound financial management and control systems as per the International Financial and Accounting Standards.The job holder will also be responsible for:
  • Establishing of sound financial policies, systems and procedures in compliance with statutory regulations;
  • Continuously monitor and review management system and recommend changes as required;
  • Designing and implementing internal control procedures and production of
    reports on all financial transactions;
  • Preparing financial forecasts, cash flow projections and computation of expense
    ratios;
  • Coordinating the budgeting process, monitoring cash flow and overseeing the organization’s financial performance against the budget and operational goals;
  • Coordinating annual audits in compliance with International Accounting Standards;
  • Maintaining liaison with relevant Government departments for necessary consultation on financial matters to ensure the Authority complies with financial statutory regulations;
  • Ensuring timely preparation and reconciliation of debtors’ schedules, generation of management reports relating to revenue and receivables;
  • Evaluating revenue collection returns being received from centers;
  • Formulating and implementing credit control and cash management policies;
  • Updating bank reconciliations of all the service bank accounts and ensure prompt settlement of payments;
  • Managing relationships with financial service providers, monitor bank service fees and address quality issues;
  • Conducting benchmark studies of banks and their services to evaluate whether they fit with the Authority’s requirements.

    The successful candidate must:
  • Have a Master’s degree in the following discipline: MBA-Finance or Accounting option, MSc. Finance or Accounting option or any other related field from a recognized institution;
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, or Business Management specialising in Finance or Accounting or any other related field from a recognized institution;
  • Have attained full accounting qualifications (CPA (final),ACCA) or equivalent qualification;
  • Have at least ten (10) years’ relevant work experience in State owned organization three (3) of which must be in a Senior Management level;
  • Have a Management/Leadership course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized Institution;
  • Have attended a Senior Financial Management course lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;
  • Be proficient in Financial management based computer application skills;
  • Be a registered member of ICPAK in good standing;
  • Have demonstrated a high degree in work ethics and competencies.
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.

    4. Assistant Training Levy Inspector Jobs in Kenya (4 Posts) (Grade 7) HRA/DFLA/02/2016

    Reporting to the Senior Levy Inspector, the job holder will be responsible for:
  • Assessing eligibility of registration of employers;
  • Registration of employers;
  • Informing employers on operation of training schemes;
  • Maintaining register for registered contributors;
  • Verifying levy payment records.

    The successful candidate must:
  • Have KCSE C- ;
  • Have at least a Diploma in Law, Industrial Relations, Labour Management, marketing or any other business related course,
    OR
  • CPA/CPS part II, CIPS level IV
  • Be Proficient in computer applications
