Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

a) Formulate Corporate Marketing policies and procedures;
b) Formulate corporate public relations policies and procedures;
c) Formulate effective marketing strategies and plans for all products and services at KIE;
d) Prepare marketing and PR budgets,
e) Undertake product development and market segmentation, and monitor market growth;
f) Develop the Corporate Identity of KIE through product branding and quality service;
g) Rebrand (give a new corporate look or identity) KIE products/services as necessary;
h) Carry out marketing campaign / promotion to create awareness within SMEs sector on
available products and services at KIE;
i) Develop and install pricing strategies for various KIE products;
j) Organizing in-house functions i.e. Exhibitions, meetings, seminars, anniversaries,
ceremonies etc.;
k) Issue press releases, react to media stories and proactive media reporting through the
available channels;
l) Convene public relations and media related meetings;
m) Design corporate branding materials (posters, cards, calendars, diaries, t-shirts, fliers
etc);
n) Coordinate corporate information to the placed in the company website
o) Prepare and publish KIE newsletters, brochures, handbooks, manuals, etc;
p) Develop feedback mechanisms to evaluate the efficacy of the marketing function at KIE;
q) Capture, analyze and prepare customer feedback reports;
r) Handle customer enquiries/complaints as per Commission on Administrative Justice
(CAJ)/Ombudsman as per CAJ guidelines;
s) Preparation and submission of customer complaints report to management and Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ)/Ombudsman as per CAJ guidelines;
t) Coordinate undertaking of Customer satisfaction surveys
u) Champion Implementation of recommendations from the customer satisfaction survey.
v) Represent KIE in meetings, conferences, seminars and other forum;
w) Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirement for Appointment
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communication, Mass Media, Journalism,
Social Sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution;
b) A masters degree in relevant field will be an added advantage;
c) Progressive experience of at least 3 years in Marketing Strategies at a reputable institution;
d) Experience in Marketing Research and product development
e) Must have business opportunity identification skills and analytical skills
f) Must be decisive and aggressive;
g) Good interpersonal and networking skills ;
h) Excellent communication skills;
i) Must have good customer management skills;
j) Excellent report writing and presentation and analytical skills;
k) Must be self-motivated and well-groomed;
l) Proficiency in computer applications and other related softwares;
m) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

14. Senior Operations Officer
Direct reports Corporate Strategy and Planning Manager

Job Purpose:-
  • Ensure that the branch is a profit Centre and oversee branch operations are in line
    with the KIE’s service charter and customer responsiveness;
  • To coordinate the generation and implementation of company investments within the
    branches and provide timely progress performance reports to the management.

    Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks
    a) Ensure that the branches operate as profit Centres
    b) Oversee branch operations in line with the KIE’s service charter and customer responsiveness;
    c) Coordinate preparation of operations and branch budgets;
    d) Ensure operations policies are developed/reviewed and implemented;
    e) Develop work plans for attainments for performance contract in liaison with the branch
    operations;
    f) Develop/review branch profiles for investment purposes;
    g) Participate in setting/cascading branch performance targets and ensure attainment of the same through weekly/monthly/quarterly reports;
    h) To coordinate the generation and implementation of company investments within the branches;
    i) Supervise and ensure effective management of company investment and assets within the branches;
    j) Facilitate and maintain constant communication between H/O and branches on loan portfolios;
    k) Ensure preparation of timely and accurate management reports by branches and
    advise the management on performance progress ;
    l) Effectively participate Risk Appraisal Committee (RAC) as branch representative and
    provide timely progress reports to the management;
    m) Assist in preparing quarterly PC performance reports of branch technical staff as
    may be required;
    n) To ensure participation and coordination in relevant programmes/activities of the county
    Government and other agencies within the branches.
    o) Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Requirement for Appointment
    a) Bachelor’s Degree in Business related courses;
    b) A Master’s Degree is an added advantage;
    c) Previous relevant work experience required with minimum experience of 3 years of progressive working;
    d) Demonstrated good understanding and experience in operations matters;
    e) Strong qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills;
    f) Excellent report writing and presentation skills
    g) Strong interpersonal skills
    h) Computer literacy and knowledge of different applications;
    i) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    16. Assistant Manager Corporate Strategy & Planning

    Direct reports Corporate Strategy and Planning Manager

    Job Purpose:-
    The position is responsible for developing and reviewing periodic strategic and operational plans of the organization; monitor and evaluate all KIE programs in terms of quality, relevance, cost
    effectiveness and actual performance against planned targets to ensure that the company achieves set goals and objectives. The position also heads research and development activities for the company.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    a) Prepare Strategic Plans and implementation programmes
    b) Prepare of operations plans (work plans)
    c) In liaison with all the departments, put in place monitoring and evaluation systems
    (programs) for the work plans.
    d) Assist in coordinating the preparation of the company’s performance contract
    e) Monitor the achievement of the performance contract on quarterly and annually basis
    f) Monitor and supervising the implementation of the organization’s action plans.
    g) Evaluate and make recommendations on the implementation of the Action plan.
    h) Carry out impact assessment on all the action plans.
    i) Ensure existence and effective compliance of the company policies and procedures.
    j) Participate in writing funding proposals to the government and other donors;
    k) Assist in lobbying and negotiating for funding for the company programmes.
    l) Carry out research on factors impacting on KIE operations both in the short term and long term
    m) Implement and monitor research findings
    n) Ensure that the company’s marketing efforts result in the establishment and maintenance of a positive and progressive public image.
    o) Ensure that products/services brands are successfully managed for effective penetration
    and market share growth.
    p) Ensure compliance to Quality Management System requirements;
    q) Maintain and update the company’s database/information centre;
    r) Attend management meetings when necessary, compilation of management /departmental reports
    s) Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

    Requirement for Appointment
    (i) Bachelor’s degree in business related filed from a recognized institution;
    (ii) Master’s degree in relevant field from a recognized institution will be an added
    advantage
    (iii)Proficiency in computer applications;
    (iv)Work experience for a minimum of 3-4 years;
    (v) Excellent report writing and presentation skill,
    (vi)Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
