9. Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Assistant Registrar, Finance and Administration Jobs - KCAA Scale 7 - Ref: EASA/ADM/02/17 (1 Post)


Reports To: Registrar, Finance and Administration

Job Purpose
To coordinate administrative functions in the
school in compliance with procedures and regulations

Scope of work / duties / responsibilities
  • Coordinating Finance and Administration functions within EASA.
  • Supervising the registry to ensure safe custody of documents, file and mail movement.
  • Coordinating all staff welfare activities.
  • Overseeing outsourced services, such as, security, catering, cleaning etc.
  • Coordinating Logistics and Transportation service.
  • Coordinating Environmental and Occupational safety and security matters of the school
  • Management of central services to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Registrar, Finance & Administration.

    Qualifications
  • A degree in Business Administration / Human Resource or related field
  • Diploma in Human Resource will be an added advantage
  • Training in management and Leadership.

    Experience
  • Five (5) years’ experience in administrative role in a busy environment.

    Knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of procedures in procurement, finance, human resources, academics etc.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with various user departments, including customer services skills
  • Proficiency in office suite.

    10. Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Senior Analyst (Air Transport and Economic Regulation) Jobs - KCAA Scale 7 - Ref: ATER/08/17 (1 Post)

    Reports To: Chief Analyst (Air Transport and Economic Regulation)

    Job Purpose
    Performs financial and economic evaluations of licensed
    operators and applicants and maintain relevant statistical data.

    Scope of work / duties / responsibilities
  • Analyzing of the audited financial accounts and internal management accounts of licensed operators and applicants as relates to the financial performance of an airline company and changes from previous years
  • Analyzing airline financial statements using financial ratios focusing on liquidity, performance/earnings, stock market ratios, inter airline comparison of ratios and interpretation of problems.
  • Analyzing of operating and pre-tax results and effects of off balance sheet operating leases on solvency ratios,
  • Analyzing of financial strengths and weakness of airlines in respect of competition
  • Analyzing business plans for airline operators and applicants
  • Analyzing details of airline start-up costs and financing proposals including equity financing for applicants
  • Analyzing and updating air transport economic data on airlines, airports and air navigation and submits reports
  • Monitoring economic
    performance of airlines according to agreed standards
  • Preparing quarterly and annual air transport statistics involving airline fleet and personnel statistics, aircraft movement, traffic by flight stage, cargo imports and exports, route, sector, destination and aircraft type
  • Compiling and analyzing air transport statistics in accordance with ICAO requirements
  • Analyzing air carrier schedules by routes, frequency and destination for the purposes of authorizing schedules and tariffs
  • Updating of information on the data bank through the Air transport Management system
  • Forecasting based on route, sector, region and country of origin, destination and aircraft type
  • Analyzing tariffs and fares for the purposes of detecting anti-competitive practices
  • Preparing and updating an appropriate statistical and financial database on licensed operators.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Chief Analyst

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or related field from a recognized university.
  • Knowledge in financial management is an added advantage

    Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Economist or Statistician
  • Experience in an airline or aviation sector is an added advantage

    Knowledge and skills
  • A working knowledge of the ICAO requirements in air transport field
  • Analytical skills with the ability to make reliable airline financial analysis and economic projections and forecasts
  • Ability to built accurate financial models used in decision making processes
  • Capable of integrating various data and identifying what is relevant to Directorate’s activities
  • Good reporting skills to present accurate data for analysis and decision making
  • Attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy
  • Demonstrated merit and ability in work performance and results
  • Ability to manipulate and use contemporary office automation equipment, software and databases and to keep abreast with available technology
